Any updates James?
(I sit here and type this when I could pick up the phone and call... :-/)
Let us know man. If you love your wife like I love mine I feel for ya. I don't know what I would do with out my woman.
I thought the same thing when I had a serious GF. Now I am having so much fun being single--I never wanna be tied down.
I guess this is a bad thread to post this, but I know James cares deeply for his wife and would do anything for her, so I am sure he is waiting on her hand and foot to take care of her until she is better...
here is the best update i can give...we have been given a surgeons numbers and set an appointment for the 26th of may but they are trying to get us in sooner....
there are several types of valves that can be used: 1 is a cadaver valve but the waiting list to be match for donors is long, 2 animal valve pig/porcupine and other animal valves, 3 mechanical valve.
the first two work great but usually have to be redone in 10-15 years but allow woman at child birthing age to have children
the mechanical valve will last almost forever but you have to be on blood thinner meds which means no kids.(my wife wants to have a youngin).
now the procedure we will be having is the Ross procedure which means double valve replacement.
they take the valve from the pulmonary side(low pressure) and switch it over to the aortic side(high pressure side and the one that is bad in my wife) now the pulmonary valve can handle this task in the high pressure side for a long time. but the pulmonary valve will be replaced with an animal valve.
also there are only a few doctors in texas that do this procedure 1 is in plano(thank god) and the other 3 are in Houston(long drive). but so far so good.
I appreciate everyones thoughts and prayers...you dont know how much that means to my wife and I.
I will keep you guys updated when I get more info.
When you get kicked down and scrap your knee yah gotta spit on it and rub the dirt in get back up and keep going.
Damn right James. I hope all works out for ya! We'll be thinking of you guys!
