some one told me that the ls6 cam is my best bet for the 6.0 ?
depends. I would get one specd out if I could to it all over again. About to pull my off the shelf cam out and put a custom in. The ls6 is good for boost but if you are going to run NA for awhile I personally WOULDNT run it. Call Allen or TSP. They will both spec you a cam for cheap. I personally would go with allen as my plan is. Tell him what you want in the long run. If you plan to spray, leave na, or FI. Tell them bout you reworking the heads and all and they can make you something amazing.
Ian is right. LS6 cam in a LQ4 would be great for a turbo/supercharger. But if you are staying all motor, you need to decide if you want to keep some decent low end power, or if you want a top-end screamer. In order for us to help spec a cam for you, we need to know more of what your goals are for the truck and what you wanna do with it...
I would run something with around a 114 or a 115 LSA in the area of the 224 or a bit bigger. It should be hell off the line with just 3k stall and be able to pull up above 6k I would think. As well as make some nice numbers. Between the head work and full bolt ons you will be very very happy.
I love HEAD work:LOL:
This cam would work very well for you: 224R. Have that cut on a 114 LSA. That would be a sweet off-the-shelf cam.
Or a decent custom grind would be a 224(XE lobes)/228(XE-R lobes) .570/.588 114 LSA with +3 degrees of advanced timing.
