yeah, thats why its whining. ASAP, you need to pull the pinion and put the shim on it, reset the BL, and recheck the wear pattern. You might have to replace the gears, but its worth a try.

my richmonds dont whine.. but mine do make noise for a split second when I let off the gas going around 60mph, and they make some when I get back on the gas. its not a whine, feels more like a vibration of some sort. I can feel it in the pedal. im going to tear mine apart and check everything out soon.
Got it all fixed Friday morning. Guess I got it soon enough, there was no damage done. Even wear pattern on gears from previous spraypaint was good. Better safe than sorry.
the noise stopped then right?
