If it starts and runs for some 3-5 seconds, more than likely it's your VATS(vehicle anti-theft system) kicking in. You'll have to send the ecu out to get flashed and have it deleted. Glad to hear its running. I should be on the road with mine in about a week.
it stays running, i just don't have exhaust, radiator, & MAF hooked up. i just ran it for a few seconds to make sure she runs. my ECU was tuned by Nelson Performance.
drive shaft is in, changed the U-joints, & trans lines are ran. that was a PITA since the since the truck lines went into the truck trans at a different angle the the camaro trans.
working on a temp fix for my exhaust so i can run it & drive it to the muffler shop.
i bought some band clamps & i'm having some pipe made to go from my 3" collector to the puny 2" exhaust on the truck.:sigh:
next decision is what muffler to run & should i run single or dual mufflers?
I say single 3" magnaflow.
what size do you think? i need to start searching some sound clips of different mufflers.
Over 18 inch, cus mine are deafening
Borla Xr1's are on my firebird and they sound amazing. On my truck I just have factory mufflers with electric cutouts and I really like the option of silent or badass haha. If you are just leaving the engine stock I would just do a single 3 inch with a decently sized magnaflow.

this is the hardest decision i've had to make so far:duh:
the motor is stock with LT's, Nelson tune, & P&P throttle body.
i want ti to be some what quiet at idle & cruise, but when i step on it i want people to know i'm around, LOL!!!

i think going 1 muffler will be my best route, in case i want to change it later i only have 1 to change.

no doubt. i need to go back & find the thread about ABS removal & see what fitting s& proportion valves i need.

to clean up under the hood & i don't feel i really need it. if i remember right, my 88 didn't have ABS & my 92 only had rear ABS & i never had any problems stopping or anything with them.
pulled the trans cross-member & notched it for my exhaust.

Man it looks great in there! I always liked your truck and that bumper. Lots of good info for me on your thread. Give us more pics of anything and what u cut out of the factory wiring. I'm deleting my abs as well.

i mounted it right on side the radiator. my battery is in the bed so it wasn't in my way. the lines coming out the bottom of the overflow tank are like 1/4" & the port coming off the radiator is 3/8" so i went to home depot & bought a barbed 1/4" & 3/8" & tied them together with a 90Quote:

only thing i did with the LS1 harness was sell it to pay for my headers, LOL!!! if you go with the NP harness you don't need the LS1 harness. you will need your truck harness & will need to find the wiring diagram on the c100 connector going into the firewall on the drivers side. i'm not sure how the wires are on the 95's. i know that was a funny year where things got changed. if you removed the plug we can compare your wires to the diagrams i have. hopefully they will be the same as the 96.Quote:

really drove her around today for the first time. runs good, but very slow throttle response. not sure what it could be. i need to get my 3" exhaust ran, right now i have the headers going to the puny 2" pipes that were there. i also may see if i can borrow another stock throttle body, mine's been ported & polished, maybe ported a little too much? after that, maybe look into the tune? other then that she runs great, idles good, shifts good, i'm pretty pleased so far, but i know there's more to this motor.

could you tell me which one of the wires you used for the speedometer on the dash? there is too many "vehicle speed sensor" or "VSS signal" to know which one is which.. also, what wire did you use for the OBD2 port? " i need serial data but it looks like it "tees" off into two wires, One running into the weathertight plug on the passenger side. And Does the TCC wire go to the ABS module connectors as well?Quote:

i have a stand alone harness from Nelson & it has an OBD2 port on it. i did tie it back into the c100 connector, B6, so my check engine light on my dash also comes on.
not sure about the TCC wire, like i said i have a stand alone harness & i removed my ABS.
hmm i'll have to unplug it and check again then. also, how are you getting Torque converter lockup without TCC hooked up? how is it unlocking when you hit the brakes?Quote:
