love this build, do you still have your shaved intake for sale?
well I got a few things done
got my oil pan and pickup tube. I didn't want to renotch the frame, and I didn't want to run a truck pan since I'm dropping her. I broke down and got the lh8 pan(h3a), and now I'm a little more broke. brp has this nifty little thing for a little insurance for sealing to the oil pump.

I worked and painted and shaved my truck intake, and then I picked this up for a steal.

ls6 intake with ported ls1 throttle body. rails and injectors on the way. still need a waterpump, and the ias and tps for the dbc trottle body, but at least I wont need to wire in the new pedal.
more to come soon, spring break is in a week, I'm taking a day or 2 off work and getting this thing in so my roomate can finish up my wiring.
Nice project you have going on. I'm going to be starting my s10 pretty quick, just waiting on a few things to get here first
Nice work as always man. I cant wait for that thing to fire up!
dang man that thing is shiny
Small update, i'll have some more soon though.
cpw cooling setup done.

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/IMG_3424.jpg
cleaned up the frame and painted the firewall. It turned out as good as I hoped it would!

I have a few more things done that i'll post up in a few days, i've had no damn time, I wish I wasn't in school right now.
Greg
why are you switching over to blazer parts?
nice job on the notch
^^^^ Integrated hubs with much larger rotors and bigger cast aluminum calipers ^^^^
ok...did not know that
The bigger brakes and better calipers are nice but I hate the sealed hub wheel bearings. I have gone through three in the last six years on my Blazer. They are more than ten times the cost of a set of standard wheel bearings. Even used they are $50 each around here.
I considered building a bolt on hub that uses standard Timken wheel bearings but just don't have the time to build and engineer it right now.
A bolt on flange with a spindle shaft that matched the early GM drum brake hubs would be the best. The drum brake hubs are easy to find, are very strong and you can get 65 to 82 Corvette 11.75"x1.25" rotors that will slip right onto them unmodified. They are what the 68-69 Z/28 trans am race cars used in the JL-8 brake package to dominate the series. The rotors are only $35 each at NAPA for American made parts too.
Use these rotors with an LS1 F-body front caliper assembly and you are good to go with common off the shelf parts and no more lousy sealed hubs.
Almost forgot. The best thing about using the C3 rotors is that they were designed to work with 15" rally wheels so you do not have to run 16" or larger wheels or rims with special FWD offsets. The stock 15" wheels on you truck or Blazer will work as well as the 15" drag wheels you may have too.
I have 211889 miles on my sucky front sealed hubs.....LOL
I know what you mean though, after 9 years I do need to replace them both. Yes, that sucks but I'd rather have to buy two hubs on ONE FRONT BRAKE JOB every quarter million miles (mine still has the factory installed front pads!) than to replace pads every 25K miles (like my 98 S-10 pick-up I had before with the sucky small iron single piston Delco calipers and tiny pads) AND to have to pack wheel bearings.
Just my $0.02 but I lu-u-u-u-uv my 2000 Blazer brakes and abhor the awful system my pick up had...
yup, as they said the brakes are because of the dual piston calipers and larger pads and rotors. if I can go stupid fast I should make it so I can stop a little better.
Ehhe stopping is over rated.
^^^ Maye so but not having to pack wheel bearings and replace pads once a year is better ^^^
the firewall turned out really good. Nice job!
LOL. . . Ahh well i'm sure you have helped him out with some good ideas too.
nice truck
its not supposed to, its supposed to be even with it.
I had a problem with fitment on my converter or else I would have installed pics of the motor right now with the other set of headers. hopefully everything will get worked out soon. for now i'm focusing on finishing up my rear end, should be done in the next few days.

my build is on that site too...
I have read all the stickies on there, my mounts are different then those though. those are with currents mounts with rubber 2.8 mounts that sag. I have poly mounts that are higher then his.
Seriously hurry up fool!
well? how's it coming along?
its coming along well now that i'm out of school, but my computer cought a virus so no pics yet :(
hopfully by this weekend, but computers don't like me....

after many hiccups and frustrations I have come to more hiccups and frustrations.

tq converter, long story short my other one was jacked up, John at fuddle hooked me up with this beast. I highly recommend working with these guys! this will take more power then I will ever make.

I got my new tranny x-member and traction bars from Diabolical performance! Mike is awsome, the x member was a perfect fit and the bars are beefy as hell!

I got a TON of other parts in but i'll update that later when my computer gets fixed, now onto the important stuff.
My garage looks like this right now.... how does a small truck take up a 2 car garage from wall to wall?
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/IMG_3643.jpg
energy suspension bushings and end links installed with the extreme swaybar.
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/IMG_3638.jpg
the blazer brakes didn't like my wheels so I picked up some half in spacers from the local rod shop and some longer studs. I picked up some upper controll arms from speedway motors with some new ball joints. belltech 2in drop springs and drop shocks. New ceramic pads are installed in the blazer brakes.

ripped out old tank and made room for my blazer tank. I have a walbro 255 that will be added to the blazer tank before it is installed. oh and I love my new sawsall!

I turned my ford green top injectors(42lb) into black tops, cleaned up my intake and painted to match the engine block, cleaned up the fuel rail, cleaned up the last of my accessories and finally got my engine in its final resting place. installed my new ac box, installed 4.3 throttle cable and installed my pedal. I set the motor too far back and had to elongate the holes in the mounts to move it forward enough to clear the ac box. I talked to brp and they designed new mounts that bolt into the stock frame holes so this wont be an issue for anyone else.

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/IMG_3698.jpg
installed tranny x-member and heat matted where my cats and headers will be run. tranny member fits great! I have enough room for 4 inch duals under here!

Hopefully I will have more updates soon. I will be on TDY for 2 weeks, hopefully I will get my rear set up before I leave but i'm not crossing my fingers. I hade some slight fitment issues with the headers that I will be calling headman about, but I will be making these ones work with some steering shaft modification.
Greg
Why did you have to redrill the axles?
Looks good! :thumb:
OIC...forgot about the F**d rear axle.
I've been researching an S10 swap and it seems like everyone goes with the 8.8. Must be a reason ;)
Well I ordered a welder last night(lincoln 180hd 240v mig), ordered my wiring 2 weeks ago and am back from school. I'm starting back on her today so some progress should be up soon.
still need to
-install fuel pump
-install gas tank
-finish rear end
-install traction bars
-fix serpentine system
-install brake system
-install headers
-fab exhaust system
-install fenders, hood, and core support
-get computer tuned
-intall new wiring harness
-relocate battery
and a bunch of other little things.
then I need to hope I did it right, this is my first build after all....
hoping to have everything ready by the time my wiring gets here in mid july, and have it on the road by the end of july.
But we all know how project deadlines go...
got my 230v in my garage, routed a few vaccuum lines and fixed my serpentine system. Pics tomorrow
welder is scheduled to get here on tuesday
here she is with a new belt routed for the car style intake. if you do it like this you will need a spacer about 3/4 inches thick or a ton of washers, a longer bolt, and a belt that is 102 inches long to 102.5 inches long, any shorter or longer and it wont work. it took me 4 belts to find that out. 100 and 101 were both too short, and a 102.7 fit but didn't have enough tension on it.
