Ok I don't get it...

im not putting cats back in so thats not a huge deal. ive seen and felt and heard how daniels truck reacts with the pacesetters. 5-10 years from now when they take a crap i could buy another set and theyd look fresh not blued. i still dont see the value difference cuz im pretty sure daniel didnt spend 1200 total and he loves his headers. all in all i guess im just cheap but i think ill probably go with pacestters or something more cost effective. thatnks for ur input its more in depth than anyone else has explained i appreciate it.

FWIW, Hooker makes headers for the LSx engine trucks, too. They have collectors already welded on them.

Yeah I already gutted my cats too. The Pacesetters are a good product, they work well - and they&#39;ve got a 3" collector. An idea that I&#39;ve been kicking around is buying a set (uncoated) and adding my own merge collector, then having them coated. My point is that if Dynatech made their product from mild steel with slip collectors their prices would be very similar; the question is more like, which will be better SS vs. coated...

Allstar, good luck trying to pull them off if you use the slip on collectors, when you crimp them with clamp they are there for good, VERY few people have been able to get them back apart. In the end like everything else people are going to buy the cheapo product that does teh same job then in a couple years when they need work will bitch about the "crappy" quality. Texas is the perfect place for the coated pacesetters since we dont really have inclement weather. The bluing that happens to the dynatechs actually looks really good. Have you ever seen a heat treated stainless knife or anything else stainless that has that rainbowish blue finish to it? Thats what happens to the dynatechs, unless you are me and spill oil on them while they are really hot then they look like shit lol. For the 750 you pay now for the dynatechs and never have to replace them, its well worth it IMO, since in a few years the pacestters will have to be replaced and plus time and effort to remove and isntall. Thats just me though and I dont like doing shit halfass.

so what ur saying cody is that pacesetters are &#036;hit? can someone show me pacesetters with nonbolt-on collectors on them please? i dont plan to leave texas so i think pacesetters will be fine for me. unless u can match the price of new pacesetters(compared to used dynatechs). :smile:

Never said they are shit, in fact I said they are good for TX climate. ALL pacesetters come with slip-fit collectors dude. I dont see a bolt on collector

equal length headers are only good for finely tuned race engines, while equal length headers may have an advantage, they are not worth the higher price. We drive street/strip trucks not finely tuned race only trucks.
