He wants to stay with the stock stall so a 212/218 or 216/220 will be what is going to work well for him and not mess with his low end. As we all know with our hevy ass trucks we need all we can get. Red let me know a couple of weeks in advance when you want to do it so I can get ahold of the cam for you. Right now Im working on a another guys truck and then mine is next in line which should be done by the end of this month. Imagine how its going to run once its cammed
i have the 220/220 581/581 @112+2
and i love it.... thing pulls hard and then at about 2200 puts you in your seat
I noticed in my truck(same weight and basically same drivetrain as an SSS) with the old 5.3, CAI, exhaust, tune and comp 222/224 112 it really "turned on" at about 3600, you got to remember even though his truck has the LQ9 you are about 1200#s lighter and awd drivetrain loss. It is better to be slightly undercammed then overcammed. It would get really fun if I/we can convince him to put a 3K converter in there
Red, I forgot I got another buddy whos truck Im doing a head/cam swap on beginning of February, just shoot me a PM when you are looking to do it and Ill squeeze you in somewhere.
3000k Stalll....... Hmmm... If we can find a cheap one! What about a TBSS stall it like 2600-2800.
a tb stall would be excellent if you were FI.. our trucks are turds and heavy, so it requires a bit more of a higher stall to get better performance out of a cam.
your truck is a turd period :flipoff:
If you can get ahold of something very close to 2800 then a 220ish cam would be good. I just dont want you to lose the edge you have out of the hole that you need being awd and heavy. If you dont get them out of the hole you probably arent goign to get them.
