5.3L and four cams

I like the idea of 112 vs 114. I think the power band will be very similar, however, the looser lsa will pick up on the topend just a bit. We may do that test as well. This comparison will probably be on a 220grind.

Ya, I&#39;ll start with the 5.3L, then move to the ls1 and 6.0L. There are far more 5.3&#39;s than ls1 engines.
I think that&#39;s a great cam, it should work out nice.

I only use comp cam. The price is &#036;380.

I am gonna go with the comp 212/218 high lift on a 115LSA,would be cool to see it on a 114 and 115 for comparos

I think you should run the one cam you recommended for my GTO. I think you said it was around 595/598 lift and the dur was like 232/234 on a 113. I know this is a big cam but it would be awesome to see just how much you can gain from a cam this size. :doh:

I will as soon as we get a 6.0L on the dyno.
I think that cam will give it 100hp.

Is there a cam that can give a 5.3 100hp? If so what kind of lope sound is it?

I guess my cam did that.....never felt the truck better, as for performance that is&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;

Still have minor tech problems with the idle, but the exahust not and the romple sound R awsome

Any thoughts on a large split duration Allen?

large split meaning 202/230? IMO, no need to, unless you&#39;re worried about emissions, maybe that will be a good comparison. I think a smaller split is better, but we&#39;ll find out.

That&#39;s why I was curious what kind of numbers you would see from a split similar to mine. It isn&#39;t a "popular" grind and the common belief is that the smaller split is the way to go. I&#39;d just like to see some dyno numbers of a large split and same split cam in teh same setup.

I wasn&#39;t thinking that large. Most guys run pretty close durations (220/220 etc). Just curious what the actual numbers would be on some of the more common splits (218/228, 216/226 etc.). For example if you take mine, the intake duration (218) is smaller than the popular 220/220 cam, but the exhaust (228) is larger. So which one gets better numbers? I guess that&#39;s what I&#39;m getting at.
