Allen have you done any research on the l92 heads from the 07'caddy escalades? Do you know if ls2 style heads will work on my genIII? If so i think im going to spring for a bare set of them cause they are only like 200 a piece and flow 330cfm factory.
Does anyone know what size valves are in the LQ9 heads? I really want to try a set of these heads. Only draw back to these is that you have to have a 4" bore or bigger to use them cause the valves are so big.
I definately plan on the 4.10's as well as LT's and shorter rear tires. I already have a 2800 stall but i didnt really notice the difference. I might try a 3000 stall after i get gears and shorter tires if i dont like my times after that.
Im going to try an get out to SA to get a dyno tune from allen when i get the gears and LT's in as well as a shift kit. I wanted to head out to run my truck at the drag strip in SA but i dont want to be there when i dont know anybody.
The guy at FLT told me that trans go is still trying to get a kit specifically for the 05' 4L65E's. he said there is a part in the pump that they are still working on and wont be available untill August. Which figures cause ill be in Africa the whole month of Aug. So I have to wait till September for my shift kit.

You should have felt a nice difference in the stall, if not, get it restalled or go for a 3200 stall if you don't mind the small drop in mpg. I think Jethro's could have used just a slight looser stall, but you never really know until it's in the truck. I've had the same stall turn out differently in similar trucks, it's probably the manufacture.
The different part is the boost valve, we found that out when I tried to install my shift kit, I'm still running the stock valve and it's working fine. Chuck milled an aftermarket one for me that I haven't had time to install yet.
Let us know when you're coming to town, we can go race!
later,
allen
I really want to have everything lined up on my truck as far as LT's 4.10's, shift kit, and some tires for the race track, before i get out your way. It will probably be the end of this year or the beginning of next year but at that time its still cold so maybe when things heat up next year or if i start making some more money. Right now the Snap-On loan shark gets a pretty good chunk of it every week. Im saving for some headers right now though.
Will LS2 heads fit my GENIII? If so i might really consider some l92 heads. there are quite a few people on ls1tech tripping out about them.
I guess ill go ahead and get the shift kit and the sonax servo now and save for headers later. Then ill get the gears and the headers will be last on the list. ill have to build a new y pipe and do a lot of work to make the stock cats fit and then ill have to finish the rest of my exhaust out cause its still messed up from when i ran over a piece of metal and it ripped most of it off. I would really like to do all my exhaust work at one time. Knowing me it will take me all day cause i like to butt weld everything and test fit everything untill i like the way it is.
Allen did you ever install that boost valve? Im thinking of getting the HD-2 kit eventhough they havent made the updated boost valve, but i dont want to run into problems later on. Also im going to buy some 4.10's here pretty soon and keep my stock g80 untill i can afford the e locker. When i do the shift kit i also wanted to try switching to synthetic tranny fluid but i dont know about getting all the old conventional fluid out of the converter.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(badseed91 @ Jul 23 2006, 07:27 PM) </div>how much gas did you have in the tank on this run?Quote:
Ok im getting a little frustrated with how my truck is performing at the race track! The best i have been able to get out of it was a 14.7 @ 94.98MPH. I have an 05' VHO with a Trailblazer converter, Comp Cam, Nelson Tune, CAI, T-Stat, and true dual exhaust. My truck is gutless out of the hole! Like no tires spinning 2.6 60'! once it gets above 2500 it screams all the way to 6300 and hits second and bogs for about a second and then screams all the way to 95mph and im done racing. And im still in second gear at the finish line! I tried stalling my truck thinking that the computer was getting KR, so i tried just punching it! and still getting same damn results a little better just punching it though!
I know the Factory 20's and 31.8" tall tires have a bunch to do with my problem so im asking yall, The experts at all this stuff what it is going to take to get my truck in the 12's N/A?
Would some 4.10 gears, Pace setter LT's, Shift kit and servo, and some 27" tall drag slicks be enough?
If not what do yall think it will be good for? A mid 13? high 13?
Im probably going to end up blowing the G80 up with some big slicks so what size slicks would everyone recommend that would keep me from gutting the diff?
What will it take to get me in the 12's N/A? heads? bigger cubes?
Im out of ideas and need solid answers, any help would be appreciated. :bash:

Quarter tank i think
i asked that b/c if my truck has less than 1/4 tank, the engine starves for fuel and looses power b/c of the gas shifting in the tank. this is at the track too
