I&#39;m using a Suburban tank that came with fuel injection (small lock ring style). I upgraded the fuel pump to a Walbro 255LPH pump (I think it was a Ford Mustang kit). If your tank has a pump in it I&#39;m sure it could be upgraded to work. A tank meant for an internal pump usally has baffeling to keep the pump from starving on turns, hills and such.

Can you remove the pump unit currently in the tank and post a photo so we&#39;ll have an idea of what you&#39;re working with? I think a 87 grand national pump should work.

Nope, this tank did not originally come with a pump and is not baffled. I figured I&#39;d never let it go below 1/4 tank......

Since I already have the external pump I&#39;ll probably get it running that way. Thanks for the reply. BTW, what year Sub is your tank from?

I think it was a 1988 but 1987-1991 should be the same.

Next up; fuel pump and lines, tranny lines, cut and splice radiator hoses and figure out a place to mount my PCM. Also it looks like I&#39;ve got room for the mechanical fan. The one I have is damaged however. Anyone got a castoff they don&#39;t need? (just the plastic fan, I&#39;ve got the fan clutch)

Still workin&#39; on the swap..... Fun with fuel lines.... repeatedly bent some lines before sliding the fittings to the end.... doh&#33;&#33;&#33; :whack:

I&#39;ve got a question. What are folks with older body styles doing about the Evap cannister hose setup? Is the evap cannister neccesary? Or can the line just be run straight back to a gas tank vent fitting? Or can the evap purge solenoid and everything else be deleted without causing havoc?

Did both you guys leave the evap module in place on the intake and hooked up to the harness, or disconnected?

Removed the module and pulled the wires out of the harness. Capped off the vacuum line at the throttle body intake area.
