Thanks. I've got a watch on it. Haven't tried the driver-side yet. Guess I'll do that this afternoon.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(GMCwantsLS1 @ Jan 21 2006, 09:26 AM) </div>The f-body exhausts hug really tight to the block. The truck exhaust require more room but should be no problem in that truck. I ran into issues with mounting my oil pressure gauge on the oil pan boss with the fbody exhaust, just way too close.Quote:
I think this will work. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-CHEVY-...1QQcmdZViewItem

The truck and f-body seem to be the same, but the truck doesn't have that big EGR boss on the passenger side.

Since we're talking parts... any idea as to what this is right over the oil filter?

That's what I was talking about being in the way with fbody exhausts. You can drill that out for an oil pressure port or supply of pressurized oil for a supercharger or turbo. I drilled it out on both my conversions to put the stock oil pressure unit in it's place.
With that said, how is it there are oil pressure gauges on these NBS trucks? Is there a different point for oil pressure readings?
Drill and tap that casting on the oil pan or do like I did, the pressure guage isn't even read by the PCM for some reason in my 2002 PCM. I broke the top off my stock sensor and then tapped the metal bottom piece and screwed the stock pressure sending unit in it's place. Back in the earlier years the fuel pump would shut off if there was no oil pressure. I guess that got to be too much of a liability to the car maker.
NICE. :thumb: I wish my paint looked like that. Very clean!
I don't get it. You have so much room on that pass. side frame. Mine has none. My manifold is only a 1/8 of an inch. off the frame and a compressor will never fit in my.
Oh wait thats right my frame is bent. Some dumb a** must of thought he was one off the Duke boys and tryed to jump a ditch or something.
Beater... thanks! The paint was redone by GM when they recalled it in '94. Was in good shape then, but who could turn down a free paint job. It's got it's share of knicks and scratches, but in descent shape for a daily driver. I love the wheels. Came up on a "psst, come here" guy. Ha Ha Ha... he had a brother that wanted to sell his wheels off a '90 RCSB for some 20" wheels. For $200 for rims, caps, lug nuts, lug caps, and two out of four descent tires... couldn't pass. These are a lot better than my 15x7s w/ 195/75/15 tires.
Hey, Red... that pic I posted. Is that for auxillary oil pressure supply? I just bought an oil pressure sending unit about a month ago, and it screws in right next to the crankshaft position sensor (right behind the intake). Here's a pic:

Yep, that's the LS1 type oil sending unit you have pictured. Mine broke and I was about to replace it but found out that the PCM doesn't do anything with the oil pressure reading so I just used the metal part at the bottom as an adapter to screw the factory sending unit into. The LS1 has a metric threaded unit. The original was 1/8" NPT so I had a free adapter after breaking the original LS1 unit.
Hmmm... that's the exact same sending unit I bought (as pictured). The wiring harness I have only has provisions for a one-pin sending unit. If you go to a GM parts dealer, they'll swear it's a 4-bang unit. I kept telling the guys my harness was a single-pin unit. I went to Advanced Auto Parts, an the guy told me right off that it would only be a 1-pin or 3-pin for the '02 Silv RCSBs. The one he ordered for me (Next-Day) was the single-pin. Gotta love it when there are old-school folks still running parts shops when you need.
