hows the swap going?
I'm working on the wiring today and it's a complete rats nest!! If this thing fires up on the first try it will be a miracle! I'm still trying to figure if there's anything I should do about the returnless fuel setup cuz as of right now, I only have the supply side hooked up. Does this engine just not need to return fuel? I don't get it. I have yet to see a write up about it. Hopefully I'll be able to fire it up by tonight! Straight headers though, no exhaust yet lol:rock: and does anybody know how to change the orientation of photos that you upload? I've just been using the uploaded on the forum instead of photobucket.
WELL-Did it start yet !!!!!
are you modifying your current harness in the truck already and adding the 10 wires?
No start yet, I got distracted yesterday working on my airstream, but today should be the day
What I'm doing is using the complete LS harness that came with the engine, trimming out all things I don't need in the OBS harness, and powering the pcm/LS harness with the OBS fuse block. If you look at it this way, the engine/trans/pcm all need 12v power to work, and the info/power from those things needs to be fused and sent to the OBS cluster for reading. I didn't want to cut anything out of the newer harness if it wasn't absolutely necessary. I had to re-pin the connectors going into the selector switch at the trans because the LQ9 had the newer style single connector, and pull all the pins out of the LS main fuse block c2 connector to plug them into my fuse block. I still want everything to look and feel as stock as possible for budget reasons...for now lt1swap.com has been my wiring bible the whole way and whatever wiring diagrams I find on the LS forums. I might just piss off the neighbors and run straight headers to get it up and running then drive it to the exhaust shop and pray for no tickets lol
I have done the 0411 swap on my truck now.
So the LS harness fits the fuse block on our OBS trucks?
If that's the case I will do what you are doing and integrate the LS harness into the OBS harness instead of adding wires.
You need the corvette return fuel filter. Has 2 ins and 1 out. On the part facing the rear of the truck it will have 2 ins, one is for fuel supply and one is the return. On the part facing the engine it will only have 1 out and that is what gets connected to the engine.
This is what you need!
