Checked how far my pistons come out of the cylinder and they are right at .006" so I will select my head gaskets accordingly.

I got Martin Smallwood at Tick Performance to custom spec me a cam and he decided on
233/236 .619"/.578" 111+3. It should be in by early next week and I have a 5 day weekend next week so I can get my top end put together. I'm excited about the cam this motor should scream! My Grandpa was nice enough to give me a th350 transmission and torque converter and I will be getting it rebuilt next week. It has a JW aluminum bell housing and a JW 3500 stall TQ but Martin suggested sending it off and worked on to stall around 4,000rpm.
I have a couple questions on the transmission for the guys who have put these in this body style truck. How does the trans crossmember work out on this swap? Do y'all think I will need to modify it any? The th350 has a spacer on it making it the same length as my 700r4 so I'm thinking it will go in fine. Also do most of y'all just run adapters for the stock gauges or run aftermarket?
Got the cam in and it fits nicely. Also bolted on the timing set and measured for pushrod length.

crossmember; drill a new hole if the mount sits on the plate, if not, simply make a standoff extending from the crossmember; or drill new holes in the frame and slide it; all this you're doing, you'll be fine figuring it out.

Got my new Proform valve spring compressor and it worked very nicely putting on my Brian Tooley valvesprings.

Measured for my pushrods and got them ordered so they should be in soon. Also ordered a gauge pod for my Autometer gauges, oil press, trans temp, air/fuel wideband

Got the old motor pulled out and the engine bay cleaned up and painted. Still need to clean up the wiring. Has anyone hot wired the factory fuel pump on these? What wires are hot on the relay? Not a wiring guru ha.

Got the motor buttoned up and ready to go in the truck only a few small things left to do. Shouldn't be much longer!

Worked on making some brackets for my radiator since I will no longer be using the fan shroud. Made them out of some scrap stainless steel I had. Going to add an 8 circuit auxillary fuse box and relay to power my gauges and nitrous controls in the near future. Still need to mate the motor to tranny and get the mounts in then I should be able to drop it in.
