In my 1992 i used the stock radiator that came in the truck( a 5.7 from the factory) I have zero cooling issues. I have a 5 speed manual and a 16in electric fan with a shroud. Fan doesn't even run this time a year in NY unless i sit for awhile.

Can I just say how much I HATE the new photobucket?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Engine looks good. Mounts too. I went the different route by using plates and then the original clamshell mounts.
I'm not a big fan of the new Photobucket either. To me, there seems like there were more options with the older version of the Photobucket rather than the recent one.
Well it just seems to be slower to use. You were able to get the links much faster by hovering over the picture. I dont know why stuff like that gets changed when it works great.
I still need to decide while the motor is on the stand to do a cam swap or leave it alone so I can send out the PCM to get tuned one way or the other. Then whenever I get time I need to sit down and do the wiring.
your in the same boat as me..I need to rewash my motor now that I got the covers off and other stuff. I was getting ready to paint my mounts too..lol
Might be working close with you, I still need to tap into my wiring harness also..got most of it labeled, just got to get it off the engine the rest of the way.
isnt there a way to stand alone the LS engine and just repin the rest into the existing LS1 PCM? Im sticking to mainly using LS PCM and wiring as much as possible.
Minor tear down lead to more than I wanted to. Pulling the heads next.
The intake gaskets were dry rotted & cracked and water got into the heads during its bath.
But at least I can clean it up some more now.
