If my truck was tuned by Nelson is the computer unlocked or do I have to buy more creadits?
Allen will likely lock it, and yes if you've never plugged in to that truck before you will have to license it.
Ok I'm needing to do some tweaks n didn want to have to wait on all the shipping
it cost 50 bucks a credit. and you need a bunch because you will end up spending them on the wrong thing once or twice. hp tuners is great but you do really have to know what you are doing. where talking page after page of tables with hundreds of numbers to be adjusted. if you adjust the wrong thing you could fry your vcm. if you adjust the wrong thing the wrong way you will blow your engine. i would listen to these guys and try to research as much as you can. if you know little or nothing about ltft and stft, or kr, or map, maf, ve, pe, stoich, and so on then hp tuners is not for you. you dont just need basic knowledge of vehicles to make hp work, you have to be a learning machine and be willing to stay up late many nights going over logged data and reading about what it is exactly you are adjusting or may need to adjust. i will say that after basically telling you to not get hp tuners, i will say one last thing. i dont believe anyone gets a tuner like hp and just knows everything right from the start. i believe it is a long learning expierence for any buying a tuner like hp for the first time. that guy people talk about that is really good at tuning, he had to learn all of it somehow, and it was by frying vcms, and blowing motors because of bad tunes that he got that good. anyways thats my 2 cents.
