And you topped it off by reusing headbolts... risking the engine just as badly as if you used stock springs. Awesome.

NA I know .... just lack of funds and ran out of time.... I will get it fixed right with my tax return and then done woefully
To save 60 bucks, you'll be buying new head gaskets, again. Stepping over dollars to pick up dimes.
I know I know the issue was time mainly chase will back me on that they took the truck out at like 1am while I was asleep to test drive when I had to work at 4am haha that and they didn't have any in town (gotta love small towns) but I know what I need now :)
Please tell me why in earth you even started working on a swap when you didn't have new head bolts?!?! If you don't have everything you need why start?
I'm done with trying to help flat out stupid people. When you ask for advice and then go and do the exact opposite of what you're told by many people you deserve to grenade that motor. Good luck....you're gonna need it.
You can't hunt stupid people, you can however use them for bear bait.
Thanks Trav ur the best help I have........
Best way to check a valve seal is to put new plugs in and run them for about 100 miles then pull them and check for oil. It also could be cracked heads. I have seen a few heads crack near the bolt holes and cause oil to leak. Its not uncommon on the 5.3L heads, I can't remember the casting numbers off the top of my head. I want to say 862...
Looks like you have other issues though, did you at least use some loctite on the head bolts and do the correct torque sequence?
Ya we made sure that there all torqued to spec so we got that covered. Once I get my tax return I'm gunna get. New springs, new valve seals, head bolts and gaskets. Hopefully that will fix it... like I said it seems like it just started to smoke alot about 3 weeks ago that's what had me wondering....
