this heated up fast... i agree with not using a .22 for a deer. smallest i would ever go is a .223 also seeing as how my lil bro knocks em down with a .243 with no problems at all.

I guess the laws differ in other states. You can't legally kill a deer with a rimfire cartridge here in Texas.

Pretty sure you can shoot them with whatever in Mississippi.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. I got 2 bucks within the first hour of the season. One 11 point, one 8 point, both were around 125 yards. One lung shot, one heart shot. 180 grain .30-06

been hunting my ass off since i got off work last wednesday...daughter cam to the ranch so i let her set in my blind...kills a nice 8 point 2nd day out
