Alamo didn't recieve any rain at all, the other one did, they were considered closed all day.
You didn't miss anything, alamo sucked and i'll probably never go back.

lets break it down then.Quote:

I didn't run but redaddiction and gmchasls1 got some in. I didn't want to risk another broken shaft.
GMC ran a 15.7 his first try, I believe the time was about a 97mph. Not bad at all in my opinion.
After I tweaked the a/f ratio he busted off a 15.3 @ 98mph, what an improvement.
Even though he has 2.73 gears, he still couldn't launch hard, just above idle was all he could do.
The tires are just on the verge of breaking loose all the way down the track, they squeal going down the track, and since the track sux (we went to alamo dragway) when he hit the high spots, they would squel louder , lol ,
We have a little more tuning to do, after that and some traction i wouldn't doubt he's in the 14's.
Redaddiction, (even though he has a mudstang, heheh) ran pretty good considering track conditions. he clocked off a 13.1 @ ?? last night. Not bad at all for a filtered cobra. Ok so it is bad, i know if my truck was boosted, i'd be in the mid 12's easy, :flipoff:
You know i have to do that marc, you have a ford. hahahahahah Seriously though, it's a nice car and runs pretty good.
Also, marc and i lined up on the highway from a stop, i took off so fast and beat him that he stalled the car during all the excitement.
I think domes has a pic of my taillights, hahahaha, maybe next time marc.
(as long as i don't go above 75mph i'm ok with the shaft, so i can still have fun with 1 and 2nd)
GMC, get that posi you have installed sitting on your seat and get that bitch in the 14's!!!! Like i said before, when you get your air tube setup done let me know and we'll get tuning done.
Let me also say, alamo dragway is a pos. That track has been around for more than 30years and is falling apart, it stinks and nothing but shit cars go out there, lol. I also guess the ricers out there think it's cool to burn out when they take off, hahaha, they figure if they are running 17 and 18's they might as well burn out and put on a little show. lol.
So there you have it, it's always fun to go out to the track, but i think i'll pass if alamo is the only one open (damn rain had rivercity closed)
later,
allen
15.3 @ 98mph looks good. mph is nice for such a heavy(?) truck with poor gearing(2.73/open diff) and stock stall. not to mention the tires....allen/GMC what tires were you using? use slicks any? 60'rs? no mods right, just a little tuning?
Brandon :thumb:
My tires are warn out! The tires (or tire) spun all the way thru first which is 60 MPH. I couldn't launch with anything more than idle without spinning the tires. I think with slicks and a locking diff I could get in the 14's. My truck weighed 4500 LBS before the swap but I haven't weighed it after. Still I am very happy with the improvement over the 305.
Not to mention your tires are about 31inches tall, that doesn't help with the tall gears either.
OK, enuff with the excuses jeff, did you get your posi in?
I'm planning on going to the track next Friday, if my driveshaft is in. I'll lend you my slicks and we'll see what it does.
1500S, ya, it's just a stock LS1(6), after some more tuning i expect better numbers.

allen
Hey guys, nice to meet you allen and jeff.. sorry wasn't talkative, just didnt know you yet
Marc ran a 12.9 at RCR Friday. Which was good considering 2 580rwhp cobra's were only pulling 12.5's to 11.9's.
Marc's 13.1 run at Alamo was at 113mph. I have all the slips, if you want proof, i'll take a pic of them
Nice runs in the truck jeff, that swap looks great!! Are you still going out Friday? We came home a day early, left "fro's" at like 10pm or somethng last night. It was a loooooooooooong boring drve home.
Yea, allen did get us in that race, but we raped his motorcycle, which is faster then his truck. :taunt:
Next time, in 2 months, wanna run again?
now that i'm fully awake... Allen's tuning is purely badass. Jeff ran a 15.7, allen did his shit and then next run was a 15.3 (or was it 15.4?) either way, that is very nce gain for what? 10 minutes of work? I spent more time wiring up Marc's fans and intercooler pump and i'm sure that didnt give him .3-.4 tenths'!!!!!!
Allen did a fantastic tuneing job!! I know there is still alot in there. Going to the track again Friday and tear it up!!
 thanks guys, i love seeing what a little bit of tuning will do, i can't wait till jeff gets his shit going and we go to the track on friday, i'm out of town right now, but i'll be back on friday, i'm having withdrawls , hahaha
see ya,
allen
Allen we missed you at the track, it must suck to be stuck in an airport with a delayed flight. Well I ran on my crappy tires again and got a 14.94 @ 94.28 MPH. I even got a good reaction time of .5571 but I think the tuning with the airaid intake needs to be touched up a bit. I'm still happy with the results an I know it will get faster! I met a guy named Brandon with a very nice RCSB about a 2002 pewer colered chevrolet with a bunch of mods. He will be calling you Allen for some tuning (he needs it real bad especially TM). I can't wait to go raceing again!!
