I pretty set on getting a turbo set up going at this point. What do you guys think on the heads? Worth it to get some nice 70-74cc CNC ported heads or just get some stockers (317s) freshened up and run those?

My buddy bought a 5.3 for his firebird, he had a ls1 in it. decided he wants boost! So 5.3 is in, 317 heads are on, and a big boost cam! 232/238 @ .050 with .605/.610 lifts! He is going for 13/15 psi and 600 rwhp! So let's see you get some big boost numbers!
get some 317's (100$) and get them "econo" ported (400-600$) well worth the cash IMO
I've decided to get a front mount kit with a 76mm turbo (undecided on whos kit yet). I am just compiling a list of things Im going to need to do for supporting mods before I go turbo. I am going to run the 317 heads and get a Pat G spec'ed cam for it. My big questions mark is on the fuel system. Im not totally sure what I should expect horsepower and torque wise out of this thing, but I am thinking around 600-650 would be a nice goal.
I currently have a single Walbro 255lph pump and 44# injectors.
Think it will support this kind of build? or what kind of fuel system upgrades should I be looking at?
Going to need 60+lb injectors. You're looking at pushing that Walbro pretty good with 600 hp too. I'm not positive on the fuel system limitations, but I would think that anything 600 and below should be fine with stock fuel lines. I know guys that are spraying 200 off the rail on a walbro and 370+ inches.
What kind of 60lb injectors should i look at? I dont know if I should get high impedence or low impedence? or siemens or delphi injectors?
and does anyone have a write-up on a dual walbro install?
thanks!
also. Im not sure the stock head bolts are up to the task. are they? Which ARP bolts or studs I be looking at?
Ty
Siemens and Delphi make good injectors. I would go ahead and get the ARP bolts... cant remember the part number.
So currently I have a single in tank walbro 255lph fuel pump and 44# injectors. For sure I am gonna pick up some 60# injectors. Im running the stock return style fuel system with stock lines through a vette filter/regulator in the engine bay, if that makes any difference? Ive heard mixed reviews on whether or not my single 255lph will support the power I am gonna be making. You guys think I may need a dual walbro 255 set-up?
Plan is...
383ci 9.0-9.5:1 CR
Flat top Pistons (not going to tear into the bottom end)
317 Heads (maybe Patriot CNC)
Pat G spec cam (for turbo)
90mm intake w/ stock returnless style fuel rails
Trick Turbos Stage 4 kit (76mm Turbo) (not sure on PSI yet)
Thoughts???
Thanks,
Ty
