Again I tell you......People on here have been where you are....Dont ask for opinions on cams if your not going to listen to any of us.
im getting opinions from people who dont even have the same engine as me, how is someone who has a 4.8l going to tell me that i shouldnt get a cam in my 5.3l cause it didnt work in there truck? every application is different but its easier to listen to people who have the same motor as you, why do i care what cam was in a 4.8 ? that doesnt help me, you can get a good look at a steak by sticking your head up a bulls ass but wouldnt you rather take the butchers word for it? haha
warlock, i listen to you , i decided to go with a cam rather than blower mainly from your opinions, what are your numbers on your truck? what cam you got? i got all the same mods you do, minus the cam tune and headers, which is what ill be doing
Hey Shawn, have you read this topic? http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/front...in-budget.html
yes i have read it thank you, i really have no budget as long as everything runs and works on a daily basis lol i want it done right not cheap, the article says nothing about a stall converter yet everyone says i need one
No cam yet, but I have a nelson tune and pacesetter headers. Truck runs amazing for what is done to it.
I am going to get a custom specd Pat G cam when I get my trans swap and tru trac done.
why didnt you wait to get the tune done when you put a cam in it?
Nelson Performance does free retunes for life. Did the tune right after I put my stall and headers on.
lmao dude ,aint much of a difference between my 4.8 and your 5.3,,my 4.8 has more hp than your 5.3 out of the factory,, NNBS buddy
fine dont listen to me,go buy your thumper and put it in.have fun with the brakes too lol cuz with that cam abs brakes are gonna lock up.mine did
:D

With those mods, you are gunna need a converter. Seriously--get that cam I spec'd and a 3400 Circle D converter and be done with it. I initially went with a 220 .581 114+4 LSA cam in mine with a 3000 converter...If I had to do it all over again, I would go with the one I spec'd you and a 3400. Its a bad ass cam and you will love the idle and power gains.
Exactly. You will lose vacuum pressure at idle. Brakes, steering, amp load will all be way lower.
