Yes, if you "know" someone, you can ride their shirttails to success. However, you'll always be the guy who needed the help to make it. Didn't have what it takes to do it yourself. I've made several friends wealthy, but when we get together they always thank me for helping them.

its all on what you want. I want to be in engineering, not something I can get into by knowing the right people. after I get my degree knowing the right people will help alot, but before then I wont have a chance.

Not always true, unless you are in the medical field or something. I dont have a degree and do pretty well. I worked my way from the bottom to the top in my field in less than 7 yrs and make more than double some of the people that graduated college when i was suppose to. And still make 50k a year more than my friend who is a 8yr electrical engineer. So you dont have a degree to work less puls i only work 6 months a year.
