could run a whole lot of compression with race fuel to obtain the numbers but then you wouldn't want to drive it on the street since it would be $200 to fill it up with fuel.

In NHRA Pro Stock, engines reach well over 130% VE and how they see almost 3HP per CI without FI or nitrous.
Excerpt from Big Block Chevy Performance
355ci Twin Turbo making 800 HP at 14PSI... that's 2.25HP per CI
A few less cubes and a little more pressure... I don't think it's completely out of the question to assume you could make this kind of power and drive it daily.
I dont think you can compare a big block to these LS motors. Their displacement is through the roof. I think power is directly related to size untill you factor in FI. And NHRA Pro Street cars are rebuilt everytime they are ran....
rick from synergy made 840rwhp with his 5.3 with 317 heads on a set of twins i think 18psi
a motor is an air pump, you toss in agood cam and heads with a effiecent turbo with a good tune and youll see numbers.
you need to wine a smaller motor out to produce the power of a larger motor with same turbo. the turbo needs to spin fast, faster it spins more power it makes. look at 4bangers for example small motors with large turbos and produce some serious numbers when they spin some rpms. granted its a ticking timebomb but will make power.
a forged motor and stock motor in the end will make same power but which one last longer is the question. a forged motor is made little stronger so it doesnt fail as fast. it can withstand the abuse. a stock motor fails faster cause of bad tune or even just overpowering its parts.
a forged motor will live little longer behind a poor ass tuner, a stock motor will fail the first pass with a piss poor tuner. with that being said with FI you need a good tuner and tune it smart.
the last time i had truck on road it was 15psi no meth 18* timing AFR of 10.8. ive seen 18psi with same timing, my motor hasnt shown any sign of failure. i check plugs, oil, compression and leakdown constantly
with this being said a 5.3 with a 76mm turbo will see 650 if in the right hands, if in the wrong hands then well...go read the net for those failures
friends TT viper put down 1360 on 20psi...still has 8psi to go with a 510...flywheel hp says he is making 3hp/c.i.
also have a ford cobra with a TT kit on it at 25psi he is making 1021rwhp with a stroked 281...which his comes out to a 302
i can keep on going, im not arguing with anyone in this thread but 650 has already been made from a 5.3 in this thread on the stock bottom end...as Quik stated Synergy did 850 also, no im not saying just anyone can do it but it can be done
