your stock intake should be just fine for now, in a 5.3 all you would want to swap onto it would be an ls6 intake. anything more would be allot of money for a little gain. go with the tr220 or tsp 220, I read allot and looked around at all the right setups for a long time and the guy's running bigger cams in the 5.3 never had any better times, and needed a larger stall to get off the line.
look into getting your tb ported, get a GOOD tune (non mail order) and if you have the money look into getting some better heads or having yours ported.
your rear end is fine as it sits, you shouldn't break anything back there with your setup. also keep in mind that a good set of drag radials or slicks can cut close to a second off your time, especially in a truck with no weight on the ass end.
will a reworked tb converter work with that cam???
keep your truck intake, the gains aint worth a flip for the ls6 intake for the price you pay for the conversion, the truck intake will keep your tq. where it needs to be. so which cam did you actually decide on?
thinking bout TR220 and TR224... there are just to many options man.. im just trying to choose the best I can.. just like everyone else.. what you all think?
dude we have given you all options and opinions, its time to just get this thing. it's your truck an ultimatly your decision. the tr220 will be perform better daily, and the tr224 might give you a few(and I mean a few) extra ponies, at the cost of a larger stall. you will want at least a 2500 stall for the tr220, and a 3000 for the tr224 and you would be better off with a 2800-3000 for the tr220, and a 3200-3600 for the tr224. I'm not sure what a reworked tb stall can go up to, but if can go to those ranges you'll be fine with it.
