damn i guess i better gas it earlier hahaa. when do people typically mash the throttle... i was trying to figure it out without red lighting. but obviosly im slow haha. so in essence. if you could hit a perfect light i would pick up 6/10's of a second??? obviously i wont but... im just sayin.
In other words if the person you are racing cuts a .0xx light you would have to beat there elapsed time by 6 tenths to get the win light. That is why in heads up racing such as top fuel you will hear them say "hole shot win" this means the winning racer had a slower E.T. but since they cut a better light they crossed the finish line first.

Actually no, You will not pick up anything on your E.T. Reaction time has nothing to do with your quarter mile time. However getting your reaction time down will get you the win light more often. If you think about it this way, if you are leaving 6 tenths behind the other lane you will have to run at least 6 tenths faster to even tie him to the finish line, not that this will affect your E.T., but it will affect the outcome of the race. The timer does not start until your front wheels leave the staged beams and stops when you break the beams at the quarter.
Now some people believe that deep staging (creeping up until pre stage beam goes out) will help the 60' time, but I am of the thinking that the farther back in the beams I am the more momentum I will have before the timers starts. But this is all personal preff.

heh, yeah it certainly helps out when you are racing someone faster to be on top of reaction time. Like I said you can actually beat a faster vehicle by hole shot! And when you are at the track all people care about is who is out front!
