That's true Hitman. I dunno why I put that servo on there. :duh: That's why your the tranny man. :thumb:
But if someone was wanting to do the 4L80E swap to their truck blownchevy posted pics of the install he did on his truck. They should give you a pretty good idea of what you will need to do.
I can't wait till next summer when I do my LQ4/4L80E swap with 150 wet shot. :nx: Have to wait till then because I just bought a set of 22" Spinners and we all know they don't come cheap. :sad:

2001si3rr@... well I'm in North Texas and I know of just a few places here. In Houston there's the place 02 Denali got his done at. Where are you located at? If you're out in the sticks...you may need to go with an off the shelf unit...



kinjo1977... the swap isn't hard, but it's not just strap it in and go. I wish it was easier but you've gotta pay to play. You can get an AutoTrac T-case behind a 4L80E (think 1500HD or 2500 trucks) also. I think the 1500 AutoTrac case just needs some sort of different input shaft for the case...as the 4L80E output shaft is larger.



If you don't plan to make an insane amount of power, a 4L60E should be okay. I'd say 450-500rwhp is the limit for one built right in a truck. It can vary but that's a decent rule of thumb, any more is on borrowed time. Forced induction isn't too nice on it either. A centrifugal blower or turbo makes power in a more linear fashion (like nat aspirated) than a Roots/Twin Screw blower does.

I dunno about that servo. I think a corvette servo will be just fine. Yes that one will give more apply area but don't you think that it will put abnormal wear on the band causing it to become thin and break quicker?
Unless he is gonna be putting some serious hp/tq I don't think he will need that much servo. Plus that one is more expensive.

In a performance application .... go with the billets. The main thing you want to avoid is bone jarring shifts. You want them quick and firm, but not excessivly abusive. The billet&#39;s will hold better, not just have a firmer shift, but they actually apply more pressure on the band which makes it hold better.

The band is applied in 2nd and 4th gear. 2nd is the hardest pulling gear, so all the apply pressure you can get would be well worth it. It does come to a point of it being to much ... but you would have the bone jarring abusive shifts if it were at that point.
