You have redundant relays is all. I used the factory supplied existing relays in your same powercenter, for the starter & the fuel pump. You can too, or just use the ones you have wired into the harness as your doing. The first fire-up is close!

alright guys so heres the progess.. i traced the grey wire from the fuel pump back to the fuse box and it went into the fuel pump relay so i spliced my fuel pump positive wire on the new 5.3 harness into that grey wire. does this sound correct?also i connected the stock 4.3 starter crank solenoid wire(purple) right to the 5.3 starter and will not use the one on the 5.3 harness. this should be fine to correct?
so all that is left is the ignition wire which someone said is any of the pinks? can someone verify if this is correct? or maybe use paint and draw an arrow on one of my pictures to the correct wire :). thanks guys
I still cant find where those plugs are, they have to be hidden in the fire wall some place.
There should be some pink wires coming from the original harness that get 12v only when the key in on in the run position. Usually a coil wire or distributor wire coming from the original engine.
can i use a test light to check these? i hooked up my fuel lines last night so if i turn on the key the fuel wont be spraying all over. and then i could check for power when the truck is off and then with the key in the on position?
would it be one of these 3 pink wires that go into my fuse center?

Put a test light on them and see if they light up when you turn the key on, thats the best test you can do.
Which wire are you splicing the vss into for your speedo?
I guess it would be coming out of the stock computer.
also i spoke with Jonathon at Nelson Performance today. as a reference for anyone doing these. he told me like greg to check the pink wires with a test light to ensure you splice the correct one. it should have 12v when the ignition is in the on position. also as far as the FUEL PUMP POSITIVE WIRE GOES he said use a test light and find the 12v wire and trace it back to the fuse center and attach the red wire on the new harness. i did that last night but am going to double check it tonight to make sure its 12v with a test light. other than that i hooked up the stock starter solenoid wire on the 4.3 harness and will not connect the purple wire as it just needs to crank the starter over. jon also said this was fine. the 2 green wires one is the back up lamp wire i will most likely not even bother to hook this up and there other is for an auto trans so i do not need it. i am putting a battery in the truck tonight and testing it all out who knows i may even get a little crazy and try to start it haha.
also i dont know if anyone here knows but i used brass compression fittings to join my 5.3 fuel lines to my 4.3 fuel lines this should work correct? i really tugged on them and couldnt get it to pop out. i know they need to handle 60 psi but that shouldnt be an issue right? other than that i just need to verify my grounds. does anyone have a list of the needed ones?
thanks guys ill get more pictures up of the wiring soon.
