Obviously, I still have it. Tuned better... ran a 13.65 in 80 degF. Not bad for this region. Busted the 5.3L ('00 model)... replaced with another 5.3L ('05 model). Seems I may have an air pocket (overheats in traffic). Right-rear brake shoes constantly hold against brake drum. Need to seal unused wire grommet hole in firewall (gases seem to seap thru). A/C still not fab'd.

*sigh* No time, nor money to finish what I want to finish. Don't go cruisin' around anymore... family time eliminated any extra time for that type of fun.

I think I may take off Friday to work on the truck. LOL

Keep it if you aren't in dire finacial need, take a couple months off, then fix a thing or two.

Those trucks are getting more and more popular these days. The longer you hold onto it, the more you will get out of it later on. A nice one is getting harder and harder to find. Just like the '67 to '72 body style.

I don't recall saying I "still" wanted to sell. Just haven't had any time to finish up & enjoy it. It has had a practical function for the past couple of weeks. I'm in the process of selling a house, and moving stuff to storage. Has done well except overheating & brake drum issue (should be simple fixes). Still fun to drive, but haven't been able to enjoy to full potential.

Down-side... a couple of the new homes we're considering has minimal driveway/garage space. I'd like to store truck in two-car garage with enough room for an SUV to be parked next to it... and still have storage area for large tools (shop crane, engine stand, jacks, etc). Can't afford custom built home right now... Not going to sell right now. I am done with idea of trying to make it a 12-second truck though. Gotta save for three sons to attend college. Just wanna finish it for reliable driving for the next few years.

Awesome--you're keeping it! :thumb: Those things you talk about are just minor, annoying issues. They shouldn't take much money or time to fix...
