does the g80 in the vho 14 bolt rear diff hold up? I hear everyone talking about how bad the g80 case is. I dont know if all VHO's have a 14 bolt rear diff but mine does. will the g 80 in mine hold up? did anyone think about adding a transcooler to handle the stall converters extra heat? What size trans cooler would be best for a 3200 stall? the cooler on my truck is better suited for a geo metro. The long tubes i got made a big difference. I lost the cats at the same time i did the lt's so i dont know if loosing the cats and adding long tubes added together to make a difference or if it was long tubes alone and a marginal gain from loosing the cats. either way the lt's are worth it. a stall converter will be the next mod after a trans cooler then maybe 4.10's.
I don't know about the g8o in a 14 bolt but as far as the trans cooler goes, there are a lot of people on here who have had good luck with a 28k GVWR cooler from B&M. I stepped up to a 40k from Trucool and never see temps over 165 even in 100+ degree heat. Not to mention, I might have an extra 28k B&M trans cooler laying around!!! :D
The 14 bolt G80 is pretty soild. It is wayyyyy better than the 10 bolt G80 that is in the standard 1/2 tons. Get a 40,000 GVWR cooler for a 3200 stall with a deeper tranny pan.
