thank you very much ive been trying to get a straight answer all weekend ,yes it is a lock up conv.and will it make a big diff.what will i expext out of the retune ,right now im very unhappy.
thanks alot it ben hard not knowing what the deal is ,its actually slipping up to 4 k also if i take off slow.maybe the retune will help that idk.or maybe when i go to tranny shop in morning theyll have to add line pressure .
When you mat the throttle pedal the PCM unlocks the convertor clutch and then you accelerate at the mercy of the stall convertor's STR value.
I would like to know what you call brake stall ? .... is this a TCI converter? or something else.... Pump the brakes 3 times and Get on the gas and see how high the tach reads before it starts to spin the tires... 3600 really?? Mine is a 3200 and foot brakes 2400+... goes to about 2800 under half throttle power... and I feel like mine was Very lose All motor and no power adder... On boost it seems to do pretty well ...
what i call a brake stall is when i [PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKKE] and bring it up till the tires spin c,mon lol,.26-28 i thought i already posted that.
I wouldn't be too worried about it man...I am serious--it's all in the tune. Go get a new tune and then let us know how it feels...
well i guess worrying was right it blew up this morning ,felt a few shutters and the next redlight nothing f ,it .i wonder if the tune would have made a difference if i didnt try driving it this weekend?thanks for all the help,im putting a smaller converter in this time ,i think it was tooo gig anyway,i dont think tune would have helped it in first they way it had too rev through 1-2 shifts any way .
