I guess I should also add to the equation "are you sure the tune in the PCM is correct for a 4L60e transmission and not a 4L80e"?

As for tune for 4L60E or 4L80E, is there a way to check for this in HPT? I thought there was a setting for trans gear ratios, but I didn't see any in the ".14" release. I've definitely put it in my head that a certain New Yorker will get a call from me requesting a widely popular transmission. I'm just waiting on my bonus. :burnout:Quote:

Since the pinouts are different for the 80e vs the 60/65e I would assume the PCM program would have to be different to trigger the different pins. I don't know if maybe you could take the VIN in the PCM to a dealership or maybe send it to Allen to find out if it's base tune was for an 80 or 60e.

if that is the case, that would suck. I want to see some more vids of this truck running, HURRY
I'm thinking there's something I'm missing in the wiring for the TCC solenoid. Something's not right b/c on two different transmissions, the P740 code keeps showing up. I can only get the dang thing to change gears at part throttle. WOT will hit rev limiter and stay in whatever gear it was last in, despite what's commanded.
I've had enuff of the damn thing for now. I was told to swap the pressure control solenoid, and this may be the fix. I'll do it one day... dunno when. I'm waiting desperately for my annual bonus. I'll post a pic of a nice black case containing something to be a renowned level 4 device. Sorry I don't just have the money to git 'r dun, but it'll just have to wait. My tolerance for this trans issue is minimal, and I'm bound to be pushed to sell it or sumthin'. So I'm laying low for a while. :thumb:
12v power supply for the TCC... Do you have 12V from the brake pedal? The 12V will be on when the pedal is not being pressed and off when the brakes are pressed. I know, you've probably been asked that 12 dozen times in the past  The 12V will be connected into the wiring going directly to the transmission from the power source.
Red... I'm pretty sure I tested for that, but I"ll do it again tomorrow evening. I remember having it backwards when the first transmission was working. I fixed that with this trans bolted up, and still get that problem. I have a feeling that it's something rather simple that I am just overlooking.
I did confirm that my pinion angle is off. I still have the vibration, and I"m sure the angles need to be corrected. Guess I'll have to take a day off to get to the only Driveline shop that I know of b/c they're only open on weekdays.
You do have to change the tune for the 80E. Allen retuned mine when I did the swap, so I would ask him.
It's official. The 4L60Es aren't worth a penny! I just broke the rebuild... AGAIN! Made some changes to shift speed & rpm tables. The trans shifted flawlessly for 4 WOT runs from a dig with a few 20mph rolling WOT bursts. Things were going great 'til I went to go to a local Subway just off of a long, straight, open road. On said road, I decided to run it one more time from a 20 roll. There was hesitation on the down-shift to first, normal shift back into 2nd, then BAM... free revv'n on the 2-3 shift. Sonofa-b****! :tantrum: :tantrum: :tantrum:
I'm so pissed at that POS, I'm about ready to drop it in the Mississippi. I wish FLT had a payment plan.
damn that sucks!! wish you luck on getting an FLT.
