Keeping fingers crossed for 12s. I gotta get my slicks mounted. As far as "sandy claws"... Christmas has come last week, and is repeating itself this week. Trans should be here on Wednesday. Hope to make it to that track this weekend, but that depends on if/when my wife goes into labor. :jump:

BTW, what year is that pulley for? mine dont look like that on my 99 and 00.

It would be bad for the main seal if I put that torch directly on it. I&#39;ve done this twice already. A buddy of mine has dozen this on ecery cam swap he&#39;s performed (on his truck and many others). I&#39;m not saying that this is the way to go for everyone, but I wouldn&#39;t bother doing it without it. It slips on so much easier, and I&#39;ve not seen any trouble out of it. :rock:

Yes, that pulley can be used on the 99 & up Gen III 4.8/5.3/6.0 motors. Pulley/Balancer all in one. Bought it through TnT Performance here in BR, LA. (Link: TNT Performance) :thumb:

12s... hope so. As for the burn mark, the exhaust may come off. I&#39;m not overly excited about it, but it was close enough for "gov&#39;ment" work when I did it. Besides, I&#39;ll be adding high-flow cat sometime next year. That rich smell is starting to get to me. May even take a pressure washer to the bottom side of the truck.

Good news & bad news...

Bad news is... trans got mounted, shifted through all gears automatically, then things changed for the worst. Not even putting a mile on it, it started boggin&#39; off the line. Seemed as if the TCC enabled at all times (or like starting off in 2nd or 3rd instead of first). After looking at some schematics, I found that I goofed the install of the brake switch wire. Fixed that, but was still getting the P0740 & P0785 codes. On top of that, the trans would start off in first, but not upshift. WTF?&#33;&#33;?&#33;?&#33;?&#33;&#33;? I can&#39;t seem to win for losing. I gave up on it... this was yesterday.

This morning, I&#39;m feeding my 2 wk old sonat 6:45am. Put him back to sleep shortly thereafter, and go to look at more schematics. I get my overalls on, and head for the truck. After yanking every connection on the trans, I probe each one looking for potential electrical faults. Found none. Reconnected all the connectors with a little more firmness. Started the truck, and shifted through all gears. Good news is that no codes appeared. I took it for a drive, and the 1-2 shift happened as it should. Just as I was about to get happy..... BAM..... the damn trans downshifts, and that be it&#33;

So now... I can manually shift from first to second, but no autoshift in any gear happens, no can I hit 3rd or 4th. Highest gear is 2nd. This craps for the birds&#33; This is the SECOND transmission I bought, and the damn shit ain&#39;t worth more than a core charge&#33; WTF gives?&#33;?&#33;?&#33;

Ok... there&#39;s my rant. I&#39;m wondering if there&#39;s a problem with the shift kit that my builder installed. I&#39;m waiting on him to call me back. I hope I&#39;m not ass&#39;d out of another trans. I hadn&#39;t put more than 5 miles on this one.

Anyone need a core? &#036;200 value.
