what is this plug and what does it control? its a large pain in my ass atm and i want to know if i can just cut the damn wires instead of having to chase them down
i went through all data and i "think" this might be the p101 Grommet on the lower firewall but there is no picture and i dont see a wire schematic for it so i dont know wtf to do with it

the wires go inside and split to two seperate connectors

nice gunna be a nice truck to have sum fun
the cooler line nearest the engine is the output and goes to the bottom of the trans cooler and returns at the fitting in the middle of the case from the top fitting on the radiator.
yeah i saw that on google and it just seems so backwards to me lol. it seems it would make sense to pump it to the top and let it drain down to the bottom to cool instead of trying to pump it from the bottom to the top and back out. oh well it works so thats the way its going back in there lol.
ready to go back in just gotta wait for some friends to come over and help wrestle it back in there lol

picked this up today as well for 80 bucks from the local junk yard, didnt get lucky enough to have one with the trans temp gauge but it does have the 120 mph speedo!!

ITS IN!!!!
i had a few small hickups, when i was removing the old wiring i cut 2 pink wires i needed by accident and somehow i cut the harness to the fuel pump and didnt realize it. took me a little while to sort that out. the dirty dingo mounts worked great although i had a hell of a time getting the bolts lined up the the frame mounts but with 2 pry bars and 2 250 lb guys pushing on it we got them in lol. luckily my cross member had multiple holes in the frame to bolt to, although for some reason there is 1 on 1 side and 2 on the other, i reckon 3 will be fine to hold the tranny up.
i got the throttle and cruise cables hooked up but had to bend the bracket fowards about 3/4 of an inch or so to get the tbody to close all the way still may have to bend it a little more
i got it all wired up and was playing with the ignition doing a self check and noticed my fuel rail was leaking on the passenger side, i need to get a new o-ring i guess even though the one i pulled out didnt look to bad it was still bubbeling out of the connetion.
also a big bummer i had was if you look at the ABS box its right in the damn way of the supercharger bolting in, so i ordered a brake proportioning valve from summit and i'm going to get rid of the ABS. and hopefully have no more issues with the supercharger fit. guess i'll find out when the prop valve gets here lol.

got the headers in had to do a little grinding on the A arm mount to let the headers pull up to the block due to the header studs i put in.

Should be a blast to drive!
I didn't have it up, just an extra I had from a cluster swap so I could have a temp gauge!
well a small update, been waiting on a driveshaft to be made i kinda lost momentum we had a bad heat wave then some storms that took out my power tomorrow im going to jump on it again, but i have a few problems and i need some ideas on what to look for i have access to all data and the gm service site, i'm just not very good at electrical.
1. wont crank at all, no starter click no nothing.
2. when i turn on the lights they come on but my turn signal indicators come on in the dash as well and the turn signals dont work.
3. no brake lights.
4. i went from a 60E to an 80E and the shift linkage is just a bit off any remedy for this? IE when i put the truck in park the tranny arm needs to move another inch or so forward to hit park.
I fixed the brake lights and the shifter linkage just gotta get it tacked.

Got my intake piping today and got it mocked up got 1 pipe missing that i had IAT bung welded too. now just waiting on my nelson harness and tune to fire this biatch up!

on the oil pressure switch which wire goes the the firewall plug to my gauge, also what do i do with the other two wires? i looked on alldata and the gm service site and couldnt find a pinout for the connector only a picture of the connector so i have no idea which of the 3 wires goes where. thanks!
also i ordered the adapters from autometer for the oil pressure and coolant temp sensors but only the oil pressure was correct the water temp one was way to small for the sensor to fit in and plus it "adapts' the wrong way i need like a 16mm 1.5 female to whatever size is in the 317 head. anyone got a part #?
1822277 12mm-1.5 MALE TO 1/8"FEMALE water temp sensor
1822268 16mm-1.5 MALE TO 1/8"FEMALE oil pressure sensor
got the Nelson harness in today and got most of it hooked up gotta call tomorrow and get a few questions answer as to where the relayed connections go but other then that it all hooked up nicely!
he even had the right IAT sensor connector lol and it was an aftermarket piece i got online. the quality is really nice.

Sounds great man, congrats on getting her running!
i started it and my stepson was there with me i turned around and he had hauled ass back to the front door, so you can hear me in the background trying to get him to calm down haha.
O snap I didn't know you was near savannah, I am up in statesboro. Great looking truck btw.where did you get the lq4 from.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it and how many miles? I know I can get one from lkq but they are expensive.
well i've had a few people ask about the traction bars so here are the drawings i made to have them cut out, obviously you need to measure your setup before you have these made since i can only gauruntee that they fit on my truck lol
hopefully this helps anyone wanting to make their own set and save a couple hundred bucks!

Sweet build on the truck and congrats on getting everything up and running. Thanks for all the input with the Traction Bars. Do you have any more progress to add to this build thread? Are you running a 9" rear?
Yes i am running a 9" rear, right now the truck has been sitting for 2 months due to work, i got it on the battery charger now and hopefully i'll have some time to work on it, still having some fuel pressure problems but someone gave me a fuel rail with a regulator so i'm going to try that and see if that helps or fixes the problem i have now then i'll get back to working on logs for Nelson to do some more tuning!
also since you sent that PM i'll just put it here as well for anyone else who has the same question.

I LOVE MY JOB!
well due to my job that i love so much absolutely no progress has happened on my poor green meanie but i did save up enough cash to get a AES 390 shortblock that they are gonna be building soon, after that i still have to figure out where the wire is thats screwing up my gauges and grounding them out so i can get that crap working. and THEN change out the fuel rail and regulator to try to get my fuel pressure to act right! and THEN i have to get a better intercooler for the dang procharger! its neverending!!!!!!!! its killing me to be home and see that dang truck sitting there not able to drive it. a buddy took me for a ride in his LS powered mustang to get me in the mindset to get my shit back running lol!
Awesome build. Did you end up sending it to procharger to get reclocked or did you do it yourself? Im doing a similar build with my 6.0 and im not sure if mine is clocked right.
