[QUOTE=STUNNA;427266]What is good or bad for a turbocharger?
every thing you had here was correct but i didnt see anything about a blow off valve....you want to kill a turbo then run it without a BOV.

[QUOTE=STUNNA;427266]What is good or bad for a turbocharger?
every thing you had here was correct but i didnt see anything about a blow off valve....you want to kill a turbo then run it without a BOV.
plus BOV sounds cools, kinda like having a nitrous purge
what size of blowoff valve is needed for the p88? and YOU^^will here me whoooooshing past your azz lol
You will also need a wastegate, silicone couplers, t-bolt clams, oil pump(if rear mount), oil lines etc.
I have two Garrett GT-76's for sale if you need one. I was going to go twin but my kit is designed for a single so I am better off selling my two turbos and getting one bigger one in its place.
Go with a JGS 50mm gate. They are diaphramless
Well what is the lowest boost you plan to run. That will determine how much gate you need. I would think that one would hold down to 10psi but that is just a hunch based on other set ups that i have read about. The lower the boost with more flow (large Turbo) the more waste gate surface area you will need.
whatever gets my 6liter 550hp lol and in the 11s
Sorry if this has already been covered. Can someone explain to me why he needs an 88mm turbo to make only 550hp?
he doesnt but with a 376 and future goals the 88 would make sense, however a PTE76 would work well and still make big power for him, hit hard as
my bad im a Noob with turbo's forced indudtion etc etc lol..i only want that 88mm cause thats all i ever see and read,,guys with great times have the 88mm.
if i ever were to swap out the 6liter its gonna be a 408 or 427 shortblock from HKE...i called em earlier but they dont answer the damm phone....how much hp would that pte76 make Quik?
i thought you were a 6.2.....parish made high 800s and low 1000s torque with the pt76 on his 408 then went to the Pt88. honestly dude if the combo is setup right the large cubes arent needed as much. now when you want to step up to the big leagues then the large cubes with large turbos. however look at what some of the guys recently are doing with small motors. glock high 10s, foose high 10s both with 4.8s both with similar size turbos. then theres that OBS with a 5.3 and similar size turbo going 10s as well.
in the boosted game you can easily go into a money pit and hate your setup. ask alot of the guys and theyll tell you similar. i know i would of went far with my 4.8 and 88mm if i would stick a auto in place. i know i would be well into low 10s with an auto now. use that as your thoughts, SVT this runs a pt76 mm and is mid high 9s ? least thats what i thought i seen.
Stock48 even says his TC76 setup is quicker then his PT88 setup on a 370 however the PT88 allowed him to go mid 9s in a TRUE STEET Truck and still the fastest LS powered street truck.
slow spooling nets slower ET but higher mph, im becoming more of fan of instant spool and broader power band. if i had your truck a 76 would work well IMHO. if you went with a MP then i would find a 80mm MP if they made one. they just arent as effeicent as the precesions or the turbonetics
I love my PT88, Oh what i have never ran it. Well it looks pretty LOL>
Tial is making turbo housings now too. I just got some Garrett/HTA 3586's with Tial stainless steel turbine housings.
Come on guys make me an offer I can't refuse, lol.
I just received the two Garrett/HTA 3586's I ordered a while back and want to get rid of these. I have a stockpile of turbos right now.

damm dude got a 88mm in there?lol what sizes do u got
The two on the left are Garrett 3686's for the Camaro, the two in the middle are the Garrett GT-76's I was going to use on the Silverado truck but have them for sale right now to get one big turbo instead of twins and the one on the right is a Comp 80/79 for the Hemi truck.
I think one GT-76 should get you to 500-600 rwhp. I have them listed on PT and LS1 and will be posting them for sale here too shortyl.
that tial piece sure is pretty!!!!!!!
Question on oiling for the turbo. Just for cleaner and cooler oil to the turbo has anyone ever tried a stand alone oil system for just the turbo? As in reservoir, pump, cooler, lines in a closed system for just the turbo?
theres no need for the standalone setup.... just complicates things for no real gain
I will try and post some turbo pics... think i got a couple sitting around .... I am with quik... a think a 76mm would be more then fine... I would not go to the 88 due to lag and being way to big .. its not a nitrous kit that one size fits all.. i have a few lsx mustangs that make 700s on 15-17psi with 370 and stock heads and mild 230 cams... and thats with a/a intercoolers WildEracing had a 67mm on a 6.0 and 14psi went 11.40s in an ex cab 4x4 .......... think he said it was making mid/high 500s truck around 4700lbs
hell yea post em man, thanks for the info.
When you decide what you want, let me know and I'll get you pricing. We're also a dealer for I.D. injectors. As Greg mentioned, they're the best injector you'll find.
Do it once, do it right.
now lets talk about my gearing,i know all you turbo guys have the 4speeds with 3.42s/3.23s/3.08s...well im running the 6speed the 456s are coming out for sure...what gear ratio u guys think would work best...i stll have my oem 323s...may throw them back in since 6spds come with 342s originally.
throw'em back in, i run 3.50's with a tall tire, runs good.
the 6speed auto is gonna make up for any lowend loss, plus the turbo will enjoy it.
And hook a honky up with 4.56s
I have a freind running a 5.3 turbo in a ranger, he has a 72 trim turbo ls6 cam and tuned 12 psi on e85 dynoed 497 at the wheels just food for thought.
he was running lean, needs bigger injectors. he is only running 8 lbs right now to keep things safe, its in a gutted dune truck with long travel suspension and paddles still one of the fastest on the dunes as is :-)
Didn't see if it was mentioned but I like to buy from Turbodave.com he is cool to talk to and really good prices..
what do yall think of this, are they good quality or is there better?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GODSP...item588faf562c
checked them out,very nice.
definitely very nice! might not be as friendly to your wallet as an ebay intercooler, but theres some things you shouldnt skimp on......
i dont see one with 2 outlets though
two outlets?? you running a twin throttle body setup?
no lol .(noob)...a intercooler with one inlet one outlet unless they didnt picture it....
10034 roosevelt ave is where you need to go to get your turbo build done, leave it to the pros
