yall can see the last page of my build i have a couple pics of my josh powers brackets. i had to trim down the tensioner mount on my water pump, did you have to do that?
i also have a goofy compressor with tabs where the bolts go so the bolts werent long enough so i upgraded to a 10x1.5mm 4" long
ok so these work with truck accessories or not? im in louisisana and its starting to get a little warm around here
yes it works with the truck ACCs i live in gramercy, where do you live?
on my truck water pump i had to trim down the tensioner tab to allow the bracket to fit. i also swapped out to a 10x1.5mm bolt 4" longto hold my compressor to the bracket(mines weird it has tabs on it.) i also had to swap the flat pulley out to my stock tensioner pulley bc the one that came in the kit was too wide and would allow the belt to walk and itd jump a groove on the AC compressor. but my ALT pulley is bent i think so imma change it out and see. but im using a 1080k6 (its tight) with a stock crank pulley, no slip either.
go look in my build thread last page i have a video of it and when i get he tomorrow ill upload the new video of when the belt jumps a groove and starts whining lol
im up here in shreveport
hey now-
I am sure there are lots of guys proud to show their A/C conversion brackets from Josh Powers. Dig out those old photos and post away. We reached 90F yesterday and A/C is required to be COOL...
thanks,
ZRod
if you look in the last 2 pages of my thread you'll see the kit mounted, and you can watch the video of it.
i can get more since i swapped the tensioner, pulley to work the way i wanted it.
Any body know how to reach him? I sent a PM but haven't heard back.
My 6.0 motor is installed- Started on the wiring for gauges, transfer case, etc. Will be installing the 6.0 wiring harness this weekend... need a/c down here in South Texas.
Any users of Josh's bracket remember what/ how to fit Vortec engine accessories? Pictures would be great?
Thanks Guys,
Z-Rod
Got my kit installed last night. Had to do a few "tweaks" to it, but other wise it went on without too many issues. I'll post up a few pics as soon as the rain stops so I can snap a few of it.
Got some pics of installed bracket.. First one shows the notch I made in it to clear the water pump tab.

that flat pulley is gonna allow the belt to walk, that's why i changed to an idler pulley instead. if it works for you great if not then just buy an idler pulley for a 00-06 5.3
Nice A/C bracketry...
93ND500- What size belt is that or p/n? Im to the point that I need to get one for mine. Looks great too!
Drew did you have to notch the bracket?
Mine is notched the same.
I have a question, have all of you relocated the intake tube towards the driver side as pictured above? Also, what is the cost of this kit. I'm almost done with my 4.8l swap and I'm not liking the idea of 100degree days w/o a/c.
i'll be getting mine from Josh. here's a link to the site.

I need to buy these already but how the hell do I check out!?
Did anybody's stock A/C lines hook up?
I am in the process of setting up the A/C with the brackets and found my stock '93 A/C lines are way too long and the hard lines out of the compressor actually head in the wrong direction....need to find an alternative for the stock lines....the line going to the condensor will be OK but the line going to the drier needs to be way shorter......not sure if there is a stock application from another vehicle that will bolt right up to the back of the stock compressor.............anybody have the same problem??
my buddy is using the ac bracket from dirty dingo on his 92 with a 6.0 swap. It allows you to use the factory air compressor
In my application the job at hand now is coming up with the right A/C hoses to fit the set up.....and sounds like others have run into the same problem when using aftermarket brackets.........
The Powers A/C bracket hangs the R4 compressor LOWER and rotates it counterclockwise (when looking at the front of the vehicle).......easiest and cheapest fix is to cut the suction line flush with the mounting block on the back of the compressor, drill out the block to the OD of the line, stick it back in, reposition it to get the line where you need it and TIG weld it in position..........my truck is a '93....position would depend on where your fittings align out of the drier and such..............
Just have a custom hose made and massage the metal lines out of the flange.
