You can also use an electric heat gun to soften the resin sealing the two halves.
You know what they say. Live and Learn. I hope I get to do more tomorrow. I hope to pull it before the weekend.
Dose anyone have a part number or know were I can ge this bracket or know what year truck it came on.

Just a fast up date. Still waiting on the trans guy to get my trans done. Wiring is done new tune is here Motor is ready just need a trans. Will be 4 weeks Monday. Driving me nuts. If anyone want a good 4.8 and the 4L60e I will make them a good deal on them.
Nice work! :thumb: Let us know how everything runs once you get that new tranny in there. Running a higher stall?
Got the tran's back late this afternoon. Time to get back on it.
Just a fast up date. Motor is in what a pain that was took 2 hr's to get the motor mount bolts in. Working by your self sometimes is a pain. Trans is in. Got that thing on my chest man is it heavy . Cross-Member is cut and welded back. Doing the wiring and all the other little thing got to put the headers on. I will just keep on work a little at a time. Little trick for any that have never had the motor mount off before. Take the 4 long bolts that hold them to the frame and sharping the ends a little. Make them go back in a lot nicer.
Damn son--you need to find someone who isn't a moron to help you with all of this!!! I bet is was a PITA trying to do it all by yourself!!!
And yes--80es are quite a bit heavier!
Did you not try using a large punch of slot head screwdriver to try and align the motor mount holes with the frame? But when I have done so, I have always has someone to help... Good work!
I tried everything I could think of to get the bolts in. They went rigt in the back but could not get them to start on the nuts on the front. All the old cars the mount bolt are tapered so I figured do them should work and it did. Before I even stared on the trans made me two long bolt with the head cut off tapered them once I got the trans on them it was a piece of cake. Got to set in the house today they will not let me out when I have to take all the pain shots for my legs 12 in all. All right in the Goren. Back on it tomorrow.
Cool, good thinking.
Shots for your legs? (if you don't mind me asking)
One of my hips has been replaced 4 times. And I am going to have to have it done again soon. The shots are so I can get out and do stuff like all you normal people HAHAHAHA. Keeps the pain at bay. My Doc say's I am his worst patient will not say in the house got to get out and do thing or I will go nut's. My wife say's I am done there.
Can ya get us some pics? :pics:
Of what my hip??? hehehaha. Yes tomorrow. Just came in got the trans bolted all the way up put the starter on. Drive shaft is in. Man getting the u-joints out the first time is a pain put in new ones.Going ahead and replacing all the sensors. If I get to work on it tomorrow hope to get the headers on and get everything under the truck done so I can get to the top half. All together now "BLOWER TIME"
Good work mayne. Yeah, a pry bar is needed to pop the U-Joints out. Yeah, not a bad idea to replace the sensors...it would be a pain to get it all buttoned up and then have it throw codes.
Keep us informed.
Well crap!!!! Just got the word Blood Work came back bad. Now I have to stay in the Hospital for a week. Looks like the truck will be on hold for a week. They do blood work every time I get shots. Well Crap
Well a fast up date. I am finally home. After Two blood trans fusions. Got a little done today. Header's are on boy that was fun. Trans is done. Check stuff over real good and put that puppy on the ground. Fast things for the guys that have never done any of this before. Put the trans lines on before you jack it up into place. Headers put them on before you have the motor all the way in. Had to take them Da--- Motor Mounts off to the get the headers on. On the trans lines you will have to add around 10" to make it work. I used a hard line worked out great.
dang dude. its nice to make progress but take a rest.
Little at a time. Had to go to Bowling Green today. Got the oil for the trans new plugs and some other things for the job. Hope to get back on it a little tomorrow.
Blower is on. Wrong fuel manifold got one coming. Man putting that thing on by myself was a job!! I can put my 6-71 on with no big deal but the Maggie was a job. Now just putting all the little things on. Killed my Cam sensor plug have it between the trans and block. Had to go find one was no big deal but took a lot out of the day.

Looks good!!!
Blower is all done. Coils are back on One plug wire is real close to a header tube Number 7. Re-bend a trans line thinking about moving the cooler over a little. But that means making new hangers for it and the Blower cooler to. Very very close now.
It runs well almost. It will run for just a minute and then stop. Sounds good but just will not stay running. Any ideal what I have done wrong. All new sensors has the booster fuel pump stock pump in the gas tank. Well check fuel pressure tomorrow. Or am I looking in the wrong place.
Who Tuned it? Or has it been tuned yet?
You could always do away the booster pump and just toss a walbro 255 in your tank. Thats what Im doing with my maggie setup.
This is the one I have now.http://treperformance.com/images/M2043911
Got it going. Forgot to cut the Tan and Black wires on the MAF and put them on the new sensor. But it is Idling way to high. At 3000rpm's. Did not get to put the scanner on it but will tomorrow.
Sounds like a severe vacuum leak. Have you cleaned the TB bore and checked for vacuum leaks at the intake gaskets, brake booster hose or booster itself?
No have not. So a high idle can be from an vacuum leak?
Found the leak. It is at the TB gasket. Now getting one. Should have known better than to use it look bad to start with. It had been bent.
Well got a new gasket coming. Did a scan on it and came up with two codes. PO405: EGR Position sensor circuilt, low voltage " Truck dose not have one and never did??? Not even a plug for in on this truck.
PO343: CMP signal constantly high " I put in a New sensor before putting on the Blower" any clues what to do. And if I do have to remove it any clues on getting it out with the Blower on.
