don't tell me it was Little River or Praire Hill. both of them suck... ennis would be cool, but so would RED LINE would be a good one as well.

Apparently you can trailer and win furthest travel, I'm pretty sure I was the furthest to DRIVE and RACE, but a guy who I heard trailered from Keywest got the furthest traveled. I think the rules should be better stated next time, since there wasn't any for the award on the first go around :D. Was still a fun time, even if I did have to borrow a tranny and swap it in just to get back home,
i really think since the SAR meet was such a big success, we should stick to SAR!!! its right in the middle for most of us I would say..... it would suck if we try somewhere else and the outcome would sucked? i say dont change the location, cause it was a great turnout, plus we know they prepped real good, and the most important thing, ITS A 1/4 MILE track! imo, 1/8 tracks are a waste of rubber on the tires... got to get a full pass in the 1/4 to see real results...
and by the way another SAR rental in like Oct. would be awesome, not too hot, just some mild weather.....
1/8 mile stuff 1/4 mile stuff does not matter. If you need a 1/8 mile to get it going you need better tires. LOL
Looking at a roller tommorrow. ;) So do not have to mess up my mock up truck.
well the rest would probley turn out like the houston one did, it didn't ahhahaa, make it a yearly thing at sar, it will grow each year with more sponsers and more people. Best date would be in march of every year to let everyone get through the holidays. But hey february was badass for this event, even though I sold my truck 3 weeks before the meet hahha. JMO
It is amazing Northern guys will drive 6-8 hours to a race, but Houston just thinks that too far. We have a track here that I have only been to once.
Maybe a north v south shoot out.:hyper2:
I seen in alot of pics people wearing thick shirts, was it cold or just cool and windy at SAR in Feb.
vv8 is right, let it be at SAR and it will grow each year.... i know some of you drove 8hrs to SAR, but you have to take into account where MOST of the people are coming from.... for ex: the guys from RGV are a very big crowd, and its going to be a 10hr drive for them, then odds are they wont go, cause they have a very huge truck crowd at their local track, not like most of us in other places, that would like to see a big truck crowd... i'll end up going anywhere, but it would be nice to start something like this and make it grow as the years go by, and not to mention more sponsors which will equal less $ for us to race!
dallas is actually more in the middle technically... well waco is but we have ****ty tracks around here
HEY NOW! I must say i am from Houston and I WILL DRIVE to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, new Mexico, heck maybe even Arizona or Kansas or anywhere in texas for that matter to get to one of these meets, i couldn't make sar cus work + truck was down BUT! i will be running before summer and Hope that i have off when ever the next one is. If i think its to far to drive the ss ill trailer it
Ive done most of the dyno days and GTGs around here and we have a pretty good turnout.I had a blast at SAR but was way to tired to have much fun and they shut the track down too early IMO.It was my fault I was so beat, but alot of crap going on at the time and I had to rush home when it was over.We could have SAR in feb and denton in may...or a 1/4 track somewhere.Im going to Ardmore next time you guys go,just cause its not as far as most. And to be honest...The OK boys are a pretty damn cool group of guys...LOL Im up for whatever but I think Im going to get with the north texas guys and go to Denton ASAP!
I need to come up to the falls and see you guys, its not that vfar
I wish they had a track in Austin, that'd be the best for everything I think
No one ever said replace the SAR event with another. Not sure why that was ever mentioned. The idea was to make another one THIS YEAR (preferably this summer) up here closer to lots of other people. Not sure how anyone thinks that SA is closest to most people as there are just as many DFW guys as South Texas guys....plus the Okies plus all the people in other States. There's not many States south of SA....but there are a few north.
I like the 1/4 mile too but the 1/8th mile is much easier on equipment and a lot cheaper. Northstar is one of the best prepped tracks in TX IMO (next to TMP). If the new track is that expensive I cannot imagine how much Motorplex is.
The Ardmore track is very low rent/shabby so don't get excited. I'd go there for a GTG for sure just wanting everyone to know there is no safety, the timers and computers regularly fail to report or print, and there are questions about the length and accuracy of the second half. Most fast cars and trucks run only the 1/8th there. The last time we has a GTG there hardly anyone showed up.
RGV is THe place 2 be in August
How's the WF track Brad? Haven't heard too many great things about it either...
I really didn't mind the 8 hr trip down there but there is no way I can make that trip more than once a year. I think it should stay at SAR and make it just an anual type thing. You won't have as good of a turnout if you do it 2 or 3 times a year imo.
The SAR meet was a stress on me. I as well can prob make that trip only 1 time a year. DFW GTG are in the books for me decently easy since the old lady's family is from there. So it kinds kills two birds with 1 stone. The RGV meet will probably be too far for me to do. If I understood correctly its a few hours from SAR putting it at around a 12 hour drive for me. And I dont have anything to trailer my truck down there with!
i think ardmore would be awesome for the north texas guys and us okies, plus ardomore prolly costs 100 bucks to rent for the day
i'd go to ardmore....just another 40 miles to my girls apartment.
