no, the port on the intake itself is for the brake vacuum line
this is at the bottom of the elbow maybe an inch from very bottom, there should be arectangular plate, this is where you drill and tap your elbow for necassary sensors and vacuum lines

yeah the Edelbrock doesnt have that plate but i now see where you are talking about...damn i was trying to keep the sensor hidden
nevermind lol i looking at it now
Yeah, yours looks like the ultra low profile elbow. Mine is the middle one, and I have more room on it.
damn virgil thought i knew you better than that didnt figure youd go for a sissy cam like that hahahah anyways uh thinkin bout coming down and helpin ya with the swap :thumb:
I'm in. For part of the day anyway. Wedding to go to that night and family staying over. :grr:
when is the swap happening?...i could possibly come and help, depending on the day
Trust me - I'd much rather work on your truck than do the wedding stuff.
SC...I see your thinking. I am viewing it the same way. If you can visually see the difference in pulled air versus forced air, then you should be able to understand the fact that #7 is still gunna get starved over the other ones. Its almost the same principle with fuel delivery to the injectors along the fuel rails...like how come one cylinder's injectors is more prone to build up over another.
V--I 100% forgot about my friends wedding this weekend. I didn't realize it until Moze mentioned the one he is going to... If anything, I might be able to come out Sunday and help finish things, but Saturday is shot. I am with Moze--I would waaaaaaay rather be over there turning wrenches versus standing there in my Groomsmen outfit and doing wedding/receptions stuff... :(
im not doing the swap this weekend it will be the following weekend...the 15-16th...anyone who wants to come feel free to...i will pm my addy to those who dont have it
If the swap gets pushed back any further give me a holler v. I get laid off for one week for something about overstock and maintence on the machines at the end of the month. So if it goes back to say 30th or so i will be down as well. i need to learn more anyway.
one way or another it will be done on the weekend stated even if i am doing it by myself....im getting tired of waiting for thing to happen on my truck...im ready to go fast now
Right on man. I think I don't have anything planned the weekend after next...but you pull the tranny...not me. :D
Slow down there Ricky Bobby! just sayin if something doesnt go right or something comes up and it gets pushed back any further make sure you give me a call.
will do...but you should not count on that :D

Gold or brass isn't a very good metal for pistons, Virgil. Come on!
Nice, coated pistons.
Well then, let me know how it works. I've got Greg's 5.7 LS1 that does need a piston...
really excited about getting this dropped in
lemme know when you want to sell the Lq9 Virgy. :haw:
Ooohhh....
LQ9. Seems like a lot of work to change my stock 4 to your 9 but I'm listening....
I have the 6-speed Allison you need.
Nice motor V! Can;t wait to drop that biatch in!
Sucks the time wont be pushed back. I wanted to see this.
i cant push it back...i need to get this done asap cause when the turbos make it back then my truck is gone
I understand that. Its on a time table and all. Just sayin I wish i could see this. But no worries its all good. Ill see the end product soon enough.

if you can take the front pulley off you'll make taking the engine out a lot easier and you'll be less likely to scratch the core support up.
looks like its coming together nicely!!
yeah i just dont have a puller...i tried to call a friend to borrow one but he didnt answer his phone...it will be coming off for sure tonight along with the heads maybe
