Well, an update for ya: Daniel and Wade put on the new pump this past weekend and it fixed the problem. Congrats to Daniel and Wade on a successful install.
Yep me and Wade got it done. It really wasn't hard, except the pick up tube, that part took patience and alot of bithcing especially to get the bolt back in the oil pump.
Actually enjoyed helping out Daniel, it was nice to get dirty again it has been a while. Yeah that darn pick-up tube was a PITA to get the bolt back thru when we put the new oil pump on, we did drop it once into the oil pan but a magnet easily got it out. Cody's trick in heating up the UD pulley to get it back on was excellent advice, heated it up and it slid right on. Undoing the 10 oil pan bolts is just tedious and without air tools it would have taken much longer to do this. We took our time that way we did not 2nd guess ourselves after starting it up after the install. Also not having to remove the radiator saved alot of time and mess, the biggest mess was when I removed the water pump feed lines coolant went all over the place and thank god we did not have to remove any lines that had ATF fluid in it. I was real impressed with Daniel during the install he took charge and had no fear.

Got any other pics wade?
Yeah I guess i could say, ive been through a head swap, cam swap, did an oil pump. I guess im ready to pull the motor and go through the whole thing!
Damn Dude!!!!!! Your motor is filthy inside ....what oil do you run.....seems to be alot of buildup and residue on the block surfaces....
Ha--Dale, Cody and I said that the time when we did his heads. It was super dirty. I don't doubt Daniel when he says he changes his oil regularly...maybe it's that dirty ass Waco air or something... Daniel, one thing that might help is to run a little spray through it to clean it out and then strap on a Catch Can.
Maybe owner before you......or dirty fuel...in other words, cheap gas
Good to hear you got the problem fixed....now its time to fix mine...new tranny
That's Mobile1 for you. I've seen a lot of them that looked just like that.
Lets clean your intake manifold real good and install that catch can and maybe install and oil-bypass filter as well
Remember how dark the oil was that drained out?
Yea do a catch can. Amsoil FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's the easiest way I've ever done to reinstall a pulley after a cam swap. A propane torch (or MAPI) will get that sucker heated enough to expand it. slide it on within 10 seconds, and you're good to go.
Glad ya thought to take pics. I think the pump in my C10 is on it's way South. Never could build pressure higher than 25psi until I floored it. It would get close to WOT pressure, but never dea-on like my old '02 Yukon. I started using heavier weight oil, and it got better, but still not quite up to par.
