ok, so now this is starting to seem even more weird! last time the light came on it was right after i filled up. i got it cleared, no more problems. until i filled up again on my way back home. so could there be some sort of relation between filling up and this dumb light?!?! i know it sounds stupid... but who knows
-
Nope. It just tests how many rich lean transitions there are in a given time and turns on the light if there are not enough.
-
One of the diagnostic pointers on that code relates to poor quality fuel. Be sure you're only putting gas in your truck tier 1 fuel suppliers, no local mom and pop convenience stores.
-
i am. only 93 octane good stuff. im waiting for the rain and snow to go away and then ill wrap what i can if the exhaust.
-
-
theres nowhere close by to get it
-
could the gas cap be causing this? the guy at the parts store thought it could, so before i spent $50 on exhaust wrap i spent $5 on a new cap
-
Nope. The gas cap has nothing to do with the O2 sensor switching ability.
-
thats what i thought. but im trying to get a job from this guy, so i didnt want to say no. lol

So now I've tried wrapping the headers, everything seemed to be going good until i was driving down the highway and what do you know, it came back on!!!
Does anyone have any more suggestions? Or should i just go and get someone to hook up their fancy schmancy computer and see what they have to say?
-
Were the codes cleared or was the light just off? Maybe you need the codes cleared and go from there.
-
They were cleared, i wrapped the headers, then it came back up just a little bit ago. And i haven't gotten a chance to clear them again.
-
How are you clearing them?
-
with the scanner type deal at advance auto

-
Don't know....it's another variable.
-
So is there something else I should be doing instead??
