So what is the price of an LS1 complete with trans, harness, and accessories?
LQ4, LQ9, LS2. Thanks Art...
sure people have.. well actually I've only heard of one.. a buddy of mine over here swapped a LS2 into his 07 Chevy NNBS rcsb wen he barely had it for maybe 2months... His best time up to date is a 12.2 fullly bolt on, cam, QC converter, 4.10s, Tiburon tune... He got his LS2 from an SSR.
once again, i completely agree with jeff. some people are just trying to help like the rest of us, we are not perfect and may be wrong from time to time. its not right to make a fellow member feel like **** because some people are smarter than others. if some people were so smart, then they would know that some of the comments they make are knowingly degrading, and they would know when to be the better man and just let things go.
I've had a LS2 in my '98 K1500 for about two years. I've had zero issues with it. Biggest deterrent is price and the fact that most LS2 engines have a different reluctor wheel that requires a 4th gen PCM. '05 LS2 engines have the standard reluctor wheel and work just fine with a standard PCM. Picked my LS2 up for $1800 when I did the swap so it was cheaper than most LS1 engines at the time.
LOL I hate to stir up old stuff, but i've been gone for a bit and didn't know this thread was still up and running.... I guess the consensus is that im out of my mind and such and thats ok with me :)
But I will point out a couple threads since I got the time this morning.
Aluminum vs, Cast Iron Block - Page 4 - Club Cobra
Those are some ford guys talking back and forth a bit....

Here's a general look at iron, and the cars they are used in today. Inlcuding NASCAR....which i would think aluminum would be better for since its lighter and just as strong and everything, but i don't know. this is just for your reading enjoyment though so don't get all bent out of shape. Regaurdless of what you think or say, Iron is still stronger lol.
aluminum blocks - Car Forums and Automotive Chat
I can go alll day on this stuff really....but like i said, im not here to start a war, but I'll be damned if you think im an idiot for making my claim....
Chevy LS1 Engine Block Basics - Hot Rod Magazine
I guess i'll call it quits for now....when you feel the need to down me again cause of how stupid my comment is then let me know...I'll check back on this thread in a couple dayz and you can talk your smack and ill back my comment up again with more proof like ive done this entire thread. :)
I especially like this comment made by hotrod magazine.
"So what does this mean to the average enthusiast? Well, if you're modifying a '98 Camaro with a set of CNC heads, a cam, and some headers for a 520hp package, your stock aluminum block should work just fine. But if you're bolting a big centrifugal supercharger on your C5 Vette with visions of a streetable 700 hp, you should make some modifications to the block. In fact, if you want factory durability, you should be considering taking the 88-pound hit to swap in the iron block."
But these guys are probably about as dumb as me. Since Quik, AK5, and a couple others seem to know everything about aluminum vrs iron. Oh well win some lose some i guess.

:barf::tvhaha: Somebody kicked the dead dog again
This was some funny ****! You guys made my lunch break!! :spit::LOL:
Although I merely stumbled upon this Wrestlemania thread looking for info on doing an LS2 swap into a 'rado, (and I did find it between the stupid comments) I'm thinking I'll probably rebuild my LS6 and save the LS2 for something like an 'old musclecar!
:tvhaha: ahhh...good times!
