Well i mean thats great and all, but anything to make the truck lighter is going to help. It doesnt take a huge amount of time to remove the tailgate/spare tire etc. Thats cool you wanna run street weight,l but "hypothetically" speaking if you want to go with street weight and it comes down to the wire and i beat you with my truck by say 2/10s because i took off my tailgate and spare to reduce weight, then who has the faster truck? Yeah we may be tied on the street if i had my tailgate, but on paper ive got the faster truck. Running a 1/4 on the street is not as accurate as running at the track, plus ive got the paper to prove my trucks faster. Are your not going to run slicks when that thing gets faster? Im sure you would like to run your trucks with slicks if it gets that quick, but yet you wouldnt drive around all day with slicks on would you? I mean i understand both of yalls reasoning for not wanting to do the small things like tailgate spare, but if it means you beating someone you want to beat, then do it, you may not see him on the road. Just my :twocents: .
By the way moze, your truck has assloads of stuff left in it with the things you have done! I believe in that beast :thumb:
I ran a 14.1 with cam, headers & tune. Mine is a 4wd frame, but only 2wd. Yes, it is a LQ9, but it give you an idea.

Makes sense...everyone has their own reasons for going I guess. I sure wouldn't mind going again...each run was an improvement over the last.

I cant compare 1/4 mi seeing as Arkansas sucks and we dont have those, but I have 1000' times. My best is 12.88 in full street trim, and I mean full with a bit of shit in the back. I dont take anythign off, I usually just drive into the park and get right into line. lol
I agree about keeping the truck at its street weight. I never remove anything. Lately though I am chasing numbers and considering a weight reduced track outing.
well I look at it this way, run the truck at street trim and then you know what it will do on the street, then take the weight off and get your best times
