truck wants to turn off

CHECK THE IAC VALVE. MY MOTOR SURGED AT IDLE ON THE RPMS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. IT WOULD STALL SOMETIMES. THEY SCANNED MY TRUCK AND FOUND THE IAC WAS TOO LOW ON VOLTAGE. THAT FIXED IT. THAT WAS ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO.

Where and what is the IAV valve? How did they fix it?

Sounds kind of silly but just to be sure check both ends of your battery cables my 01 hd had the ground come loose on the block and got corroded.It did the same thing when the ac compressor would kick on because it was drawing more juice.

With the MAF loose chances are the PCM will now need to re-learn idle. I suspect that after awhile, the problem will clear up on its own.

The first thing I checked were the battery cables cause having those cables looses causes problems. I would still like to know what the IAC valve is, and if I can replace it myself?

The IAC valve is a idle air control valve in the throttle body. You may not have one in your model pickup. I know they are in the 99 -02 trucks, but I do not know if they are in the 03 and ups.

My Astro used to do that and then the fuel pump died. I replaced the fuel pump and viola&#33; no more problem.

I bought a bottle of electrical cleaner, and the problem seems like it went away. Thanks for all the help.
