Wow! How do yall know which cars you can get one out of?
If it has a 10 bolt 8.5" rear end and has the same number of axle splines as yours it will fit.
ok i know i sound like a dumbass but how do i know how many axle splines i have?
Auburn High Performance Series Limited-Slip Differentials

8.5 & 8.6, 10 Bolt
All GM products with 8.5 & 8.6 ring gear
2.73/up
30 Teeth (Axle spline count)
1989 - 1998
Thanks for all the help, man.
I had an Eaton Posi with 456s in my truck. The Eaton held up fine. As I stated in another thread, I broke the ring gear & transmission output shaft.
If you have the coin & you don't wan't to worry about the rear end, do what I did.
I had Currie Enterprises build me a Dana 60 with a Detriot Locker & 456s, I also dumped the problematic stock rear brakes & installed a Wilwood 4 Piston rear brake kit.
I was going to use the GM 14 bolt rearend, but due to the 14 bolt's axle bearing problem, I decided on the Dana.
That would be sweet, but I dont have the cash for it...
