Well I finally talked myself out of this engine. I'm gonna go for a 454 instead. Thanks
Guy over at PA (Y2klimited) put one in his tahoe recently.

Cool engine swap thanks. I finally decided to go with a 7 liter, 427 stroker supercharged at 12 psi. Thanks though.
All aluminum??
To be determined. I'm not gonna buy it for awhile. Too much money everywhere, and no job. (Raptor, Truck, new daily driver, trailer, college etc.)
I would stick with a small block or go with an all aluminum big block if i were you. You dont want that thing to get too nose heavy.
Also you technically dont have to change trannies. but since this is a full race truck you should run a TH400 no matter what motor you go with. Are you gonna professionally race this thing or what?? If so do you have any restrictions on the motor??
BINGO!!!! :thumb:Quote:

It's gonna be a race truck, has to have the same powerplant brand as the truck (chevy naturally), and the tranny is definately gonna be a built turbo 400. Aluminum is evident, but far from now.
If you arent gonna go with a aluminum big block, then maybe you should think about a stroker small block, with the right block you can go up to like a 422 with the C5-R block. I think youd be better off going that route. and it will still be a reliable motor as well. A forced induction motor would be nice too.
What kind of HP are you looking for
