The hptuners license you get has to be the exact year of the PCM, the license is year model locked so it has to be the exact one or it wont work. I have an '01 pcm so I had to get an 01 license from hptuner. The VIN in the pcm should be from whatever year model the PCM is.
Chris
Im confused now. You have a 01 PCM, but in your sig it says 02. I assume you coulg get the better PCM in the later 01's?? I was trying to find out if I should get an 02 PCM and HPTuners for 02, or keep the 00 PCM and get HPtuners for it. I guess I can always findout what year PCM I have now and as long as its the 411, get HPtuners for it.
You're exactly right.Quote:

I'd get the '02 hpt and then get an '01/02 pcm (411) if yours doesn't match.
btw Chris, did you get your latest file from your login site? You have a tune waiting for you.
later,
allen
Contact the person who did your tune. Should be able to tell you exactly what you have. Another option is to find someone/pay someone to pull the vin via scan tool. I just checked my genisys it wont do it but my snapon will. You could always goto GM and be done with it for a few extra $$
You get two choices when you order your HPT just do 01-02 and youll be covered.
I know a guy with a tech 2 Ill get him to check the vin. As far as getting both years, another guy and I are going in together, so I only get one shot.
Well that would be the cheapest way to do it, as long as your not fighting over who gets to use it. It can get quite addicting and time consuming. I spent 6 months trying to get my 99 tuned and now that I finally got my 02 pcm. Im ready to just pay someone to tune it for me or at least fine tune what I have done.Quote:

white1, the 01-02 pcms are the exact same, i typed 02 in the sig because thats what most people relate to the 411 pcm, although 01-02 are the same.
Allen, Thanks for the file, that looks like it took all of it out, i'll try it and let ya know!
Chris
