And where is a good place e to look for some parts to go on the lq9 ?
If you plan on boost get the 4l80. If not a good built 60 should be fine as stated. But you'll be hard pressed to hit 450hp with FBO cam heads and even Tbss intake. A buddie of mine had a 6.0 big cam tbss intake and WCCH heads and was right at 430 HP
Just food for though . good places to fond parts.... Try Texas speed and performance. Scoot'n diggity there's quite a few
A 6.0 with L92 top end and decent cam will make 420-440 rwhp all day long
Not sure what your budget is, but if I could do it all over again, I would build my 6.0 from the ground up and make it a 408 stroker with most of the parts coming from Summit Racing. Well worth it, especially if the vehicle is not your daily driver and you can do it over time with plenty patience. I'm almost 4K into my build and I'm only going to have a (mostly) stock LQ9 with lt headers and I'll be lucky if I put 300hp to the rear wheels. Texas Speed can def help out with info on parts as well.
If your budget allows it, get the biggest motor you can get. I wanted a 6.2 truck motor for my swap but at $3500 just for the motor used is way out of my range. Picked up an 80k mile 4.8 for $250
It's my dd for now but I was gonna build the motor and trans before I go to install it. I can pick up an lq9 for 1800 with ecm and wire harness so that's why im asking
depending on the mileage that seems like a good deal.
74k it's In a buddies truck that they totaled but it 2wd but I didn't think it was to bad
Seems like a solid deal for ya as long as the motor didnt take any of the hit.
