Thanks for the kudos Jeff :wave: For now, i think the old 4L60E is dialed into where i want it. Guess you might call that "conservatively sporty" :duh: Once the Nelson tune starts to come in more, i expect it to perk up a bit, which should be good.

For future trans mods, i plan to go with a higher stall TC, maybe even fully build the trans, but that's way out there. Besides, it'll be a couple of months before i'll be able to handle looking up at the bottom of a 4L60E again :tantrum:

In the meantime, hopefully some of this will help out other folks who do these Transgo kits and such in their LS1 trucks. I really learned alot for sure :thumb:

Yeah, it's the last spring pack kit deepest into the transmission body. I installed it in my other truck and I never had any issues with any gear/clutch engagement. It's tricky to install since you have to tear down the trans to do it but I thought it was worth the time.

No, i did not dig that deep this time around, since this was all in place trans mods. I would expect it'll be an upgrade some time in the future, maybe when a better TC gets installed.

Well, so far so good w/ this AVTA experiment. :thumb:

As i expected, once the retune started coming in the overall shifting firmed up a bit, but a good firm. But most importantly, for part throttle/low RPM shifts, the harsh 1-2 and/or banging shift has not come back!

What's cool is that the 1-2 shifts are still very quick and firm above 2500 RPM or so, with a nice strong holding feel up to the shift point. At WOT the 1-2 sticks me back in the seat, just after wondering if it's actually going shift :laugh: However, for you fans of :burnout:, no tire scratching. Really, now it's probably not as aggressive as some guys would like. Maybe some would want to use one TG spacer in the 1-2 accum w/ this AVTA setup. I don't know :duh:

One thing i still don't like is the 2-1 light bang i still get under certain conditions while slowing down or driving slow. The TG 2 spring setup is the culprit there i think. Later, much later, may look into going back to a stock, but pinless, 1-2 accum setup using a high perf spring :duh:

Here's the adjustments i made for this go round:

- Replaced OE AVTA with the Sonnax AVTA: Model 77777M-K
> Used 'Medium' spring from kit (ditched the TG white spring)

- TG VB spacer plate holes
> 1-2 feed: #50 (.070")
> 2-3 feed: #30 (.1285") [also drilled Sonnax Servo Check Valve w/ #31 (.120")]

The rest is still a standard TG install, w/ no 1-2 accum spacers, plus the other little pieces we know about.

Since that PDF never did work on my end I did read up on this piece yesterday and was going to drop you a line on Monday to see if you did order it! Very interesting how this unit worked out... if it works as well as that 3-2 Check Valve, I'm going to order one also.

What size is your 3-4 shift feed hole? Any guess on how it'd work with the soft spring and a billet servo?

So far so good w/ my current setup. Good holding/shift feel w/o the harshness. I'd like to get another 100 or so miles on the retune before saying this one goes on the "recommended list". My guess is it will be.

A billet 2nd apply servo and soft spring from the AVTA kit should work pretty nicely too :thumb:

The TG plate holes are:
