1990 LSX Silverado Compound boost turbo project!

i need to update my posted slip as well, but fast trucks are way over 22psi lol.
when i say way over, i mean this; 22psi is pretty high, but 25,26,29psi... gets substantially more abusive.
kind of like running a 9.09 et vs 8.90
I'm just saying, for some reason boost level is kept a secret; or at least that's what I get from most ppl.

but i agree, gas engines will tear it up with a big single or twins; but i'd like to how far this setup goes.

What size are those wastegates?
What fuel system is supporting that combo?

If you think about it, its only a 4.8l. I doubt the 4.8 would be able to spool the T6 BW on its own. At least not down low in the rpms. So having it set up as a compound "should" have great low end and mid range power.

Farmtruc we are running fic2000 injectors and dual 450 walbro fuel pumps. Both wg are 60mm. Also the set up will be full time e85. I think ultimately this motor will fail as I think boost will be hard to keep under 20psi. I have a forged destroked lsx that will be goong in its place once the 4.8 gives way. Im crossing my fingers and hoping this set up works as planned.

How much more boost would this setup make over a set of twins? These setups work well on diesels because they turn lower RPM but gas burners (and LSX motors for sure) like to spin high.

I really dont know how much more psi It will make but what we really want is quick spooling off the line. The goal is to have quick throttle responce and good midrange and top end power. I dont think this set up will make more power up top then say a big turbo or twin set up but it will be extremely quick off the line and hopefully in the 1/4. Of course this is all theory and has not been proven with my set up but its what we are hoping for. Im trying to get it ready for some testing in a week or so.

On big boost I think this could be awesome. I have seen compound boost with Maggie and turbo which was ruled excellent on the street, but a track failure. I think that may end up the case here as well. I see the top end being somewhat restricted. Heat may also be an issue. I think I missed the turbo specs. Considering it is a small cube motor this may turn out to be genius.

no need for a t6 turbo on 48 to make power a perfectly good T4 would be plenty.......Honestly its a badass idea and waiting for results but very skeptical about overall performance

what are you goals with this setup? low 10s have already been done on a 4.8 with a single turbo in a truck

I've always wanted to try this on a gas motor, just for the "because we can" factor, lol. And Vic let me do it on his truck. I'm sure a big single with a loose stall would be faster, but this is just different and will be fun none the less. It's gonna be interesting to see how it works out, that's for sure! :D

Looking to break into the 9s with this set up. We are probably gonna just break the motor though! LoL!!

Im in Spring TX. Testing next weekend at our local 1/8 mile if I can get scheduled in at Pats for the tune.
