old thread but i'm back to thinking about how to do this, I'm thinking a 28" wide radiator and a 28"ish wide 4" thick ebay intercooler then i can run a 3" 90deg bend in the gaps where the 34" radiator was and have some wiggle room and a single trans cooler instead of the two stock ones i have will the the trick, kinda like dbrods has his done from the looks of it. i really hate buying a new radiator since i just replaced this damn thing a year ago due to a cracked tank lol. but i need lower IATS! i just need to win the lottery or something i never have enough money to get all the shit i need haha.
Woah first off keep the 34" radiator. Your IAT's may increase if you swap to the smaller rad and have it that close to the intercooler. Also its important to keep the trans cool so don't sacrifice that for IAT's. You have lots of other options. Why not run a low mount intercooler or add methanol injection? Lots of other good options out there. Lets see some pics of the current setup and go from there.
i'm not deleting the trans cooler just getting an aftermarket one, and smaller but thicker aftermarket radiator, griffen says theirs are good from 600-800 hp so even though it smaller i think it will be fine. i cant run a low mount because it would get no airflow, i have one of the horizontal mounted ones now from procharger and it kinda sucks.
Just installed one in mine have a 27x18x3 rad triple core. and a 31x12x3 intercooler (cx racing). fits without alot or modifications just aslong as you make your supports right. im gonna be using a single 1800 low and 2400 high cfm fan.
this is what i ended up buying something similar to your setup. i haven't had a welder buddy free to put it all in yet though. my radiator is Northern and a 2row and the intercooler was CX racing too! haha i got alot of intercooler piping with it as well and a 16" Flexalite Syclone fan flows 2500 cfm. so it should be all good.
26"x18"x2" radiator
31"x12"x3" intercooler

Sweet man! That will look awesome behind the grille. For the welding i took a chance and did it myself turned out not too bad though, still have to weld the feet on and drill a couple more holes.. What are you running for transmission cooler? Do you think the stock one is enough?
yeah but i dont have a welder at all lol, i have too many friends with welders so i refuse to buy one lol.
the radiator i got has a built in oil cooler so i'm going to use that and the external one that came stock on the truck, if that doesnt work i'll scrap it and get a aftermarket.

well here is what i ended up doing with it, just got some allthread and drilled 4 holes then used nuts and washers to adjust the height to its just right in the grill openings.
