A passat station wagon is a mid sized sedan hatch, not a truck or SUV. It cant run at the LS1truck Shootout.
if they let a jeep compass run, they should let the vw run. :twocents:
Thats what i was thinking
A jeep compass was never classified as a sedan. it was always an SUV, just a small one. A passat is a sedan Sedan SEDAN not truck.
Not trying to nit-pick here with you, but technically, SUVs are considered "wagons" and not trucks. There was a group of lobbiests who got them deemed as such so they would be classified as cars in respect to insurance. A Passat "wagon" is a "wagon" ... any way you look at it. They are in the same class of vehicles. Personally, I don't think it should run as a truck either ... but that's just me.
Well my deal is it is a wagon which is in the suv catagory. Another is it will have a ls motor in it. Unlike the jeep compas. Last i checked it was a ls truck meet. Ls based that is. Just figured for one its gonna have a ls in it and gonna b in the dame class as the small suv. Cause its a wagon not a sedan.
If thats the case, lets have a caprice classic wagon run or better yet a civic wagon. Just because the hippies wanted it labeled a specific way doesnt mean it is still in that class. Any way you want to technically call it, it is still a sedan chassis and body with a slightly larger trunk. It will never be a truck. Here is the difference:
Definition of STATION WAGON: an automobile that has a passenger compartment which extends to the back of the vehicle, that has no trunk, that has one or more rear seats which can be folded down to make space for light cargo, and that has a tailgate or liftgate

A passat wagon is built on a car chassis not a light truck chassis.
